Pros

Downtown Lincoln is cool. I made great friends here. They let you select or build your own computer for work and after two years you can keep it. But statistically 93% of employees aren't there long enough to keep the computers and upper management laughed when that was pointed out.

Cons

This place is micromanaged out the rear. Meetings everyday discussing what didn't get done yesterday. The work load is huge for what they pay. You will work 60+ hours a week to get everything they ask done. Just know that now. And when you're beat down and tired, they will fire you. Also I watched as interviews were conducted and candidates with real world experience were passed for family members in high up management positions. This company spent way to much time with its Tuesday, look how awesome we are meetings, and squiring similar companies, instead of caring about it's product or employees. And after all that, they never listen to their customer! They push all their time and effort into creating new features the customer didn't want or ask for.

We apologize for the poor experience, but really appreciate the feedback you've provided. I don't know if that 93% is intended to be a real stat, but can assure you that number is not accurate. In fact, more than 80 Hudlies have stayed on for 2+ years. In terms of our office-wide meetings on Tuesdays, we've made significant changes in the last few months to keep things short and the content concise with one main topic discussed each week, as opposed to every department providing its own update. Regarding the biweekly meetings, the structure and productivity varies from team to team, but we're always looking for ways to make them better. If you have suggestions, don't hesitate to contact me directly – alli@hudl.com. That goes for any other pain points you may want to discuss. Our policy regarding #realtalk applies to former Hudlies, too.

Pros

I love getting to come to work everyday and work along side great people. Coach Support is full of young, driven people who like to dominate during the day and play hard at night. We provide non-stop world class support. Even though Coach Support is somewhat "the bottom of the totem poll" of Hudl, you see people given opportunities to move up and around in the company all the time. Want to be a copywriter but don't have 2 years experience? Come dominate support and you'll get your shot. Same goes from everything from Business Development all the way to the Product Team. Coach Support is full of great leaders. From the Squad Leads to the Manager, everyone cares about you as an employee and wants to help you succeed and balance work/life load. Culture is awesome. From daily ping pong battles to company parties, the culture is as advertised. Work hard - play hard. Obviously, free lunch and unlimited vacation (March through August for CR) are a nice bonus!

Cons

Busy season. Football and Basketball season is non-stop crazy. You'll answer over a hundred calls a day and be expected to dominate each one with a smile on your face. This may not be for some people. And it's an even longer run now, from August to March. Don't expect unlimited vacation during this time. Having to work a 9 hour shift: 7-4, 8-5, 9-6, or 10-7. This makes for long days but you get used to it. It also sucks not being able to have a set schedule unless you move up in the department. Starting wages for Support is only livable if you're a just out of college student who lives like they're still in the dorm room. Fortunately, they ramp up compensation pretty quickly based on performance.

Thanks for taking the time to share some great points. Busy season is definitely an experience, but we do our best to ease the workload with non-support Hudlies chipping in on phones and by shortening the workweek to four days. If you ever have concerns about those shifts or salaries, we do have some pretty awesome leads you can chat up! When it comes to that community feeling in Coach Relations, not only do we hope it remains a thing, but extends to other departments as well.

Hudl Lives Up to the Hype

Pros

Hudl has found a way to actually live out its values and maintain its 'start-up energy'. Though I'd consider Hudl an established company, we've somehow found a way to intertwine the creativity, ambition, and youthfulness of a start-up with the stability and benefits of a 'grown-up' company. We hang out after-hours and give each other nicknames, we write all over the walls (because they're all whiteboard), but we're not afraid to move quickly and instill change, putting our heads down and working our butts off. It's tough to find a company that truly lives out its values, and I promise you, Hudl does just this. I know this sounds like a cliche advertisement, but there's no more honest way to put it. My coworkers aren't coworkers, they're my family; we strive to dominate every aspect of what we do; don't sugarcoat anything - no compliment sandwiches, ever; listen and act on advice; and are right in the thick of things with our consumer.

Cons

It's a fast-paced company, so at times you'll feel uncomfortable and wish things would just stay the same. There's no growth without a little discomfort though.

Thank you for the positive review! We're so glad you've enjoyed your time here. It's thanks to Hudlies (like you) that those values have stuck around as solid guidelines. Know that if you ever have concerns about that fast pace, the #realtalk is welcome.
