Cons
Cons: -Tasks for this position are repetitive. There is a standard workflow and you do the same GIS processes everyday. If learning new GIS trends is something you value, this is not the position for you. -There's no one to rely on for GIS help because you will be the most knowledgeable in GIS. -The turnover rate for this company is high, average 1 person leaves every month and average length of stay is 1 to 1.5 years. -The position is really worth $90k HOURLY, but priced at $40k to $60k. They will constantly add more and more to your workload and do everything possible to deny raises and bonuses. Any SALARIED positions are exploited, be expected to work 50-60 hours a week for 40 hours of pay. The work culture pushes for working early, staying late as well as weekends. -Everyone will constantly do everything to devalue your contributions and products, both to you and in company meetings. -This position assists every team in the company, which means you will be stretched thin between answering emails, constantly being pinged on Teams, attending hours of client/internal meetings and still be expected to get actual work done. -There will be a lot on your plate, about 115 projects a year will go through your desk. Historically, the size of the team decreased from 3 to 2 to 1 with no plans to hire more. -Since this is a small team, PTO will be hard to get approved so take all the PTO you can, you can't cash it out when you leave.
