Pros

The office at Galvanize has a great view.

Cons

Just a couple of items to note. Toxic Atmosphere High Stress Pay not competitive CEO - "We survive on stress and caffeine" No HR This is a complete joke of a company...literally the worst run place in my entire career. It may sound like a good place to work, but stay away. Seriously FYI - The other reviews are from the CEO and her husband

The Family Circus

Pros

There are some good people who work there and give 110%. There is also flexibility for family and personal situations which may arise.

Cons

Unlike the comic, the family circus that is Impulsify is neither funny or cute. What they don’t tell you until you’re already in is that half of the company is related, while the other half have had a previous relationship of some sort with the family. They hide behind the “right fit in the right seat” excuse, but the truth is it is about control and perceived loyalty, as well as, the ability to escape accountability for the lack of professionalism that runs rampant there. Impulsify is a classic case of narcissism left untreated. It starts out with love bombing, then manipulation, and ends in gaslighting. The CEO and her family are extremely disorganized, disrespectful of other people’s time, and have no issue placing their employees in uncomfortable situations which could easily be avoided. The motto at Impulsify should be “But did you die?”. As another review has stated, the stress and burnout are real. Employees are celebrated for spending long hours working and then scrambling to coordinate the social whims of the CEO (mainly at the expense of their health and time with family) due to a lack of real friendships and incessant need to be admired. I have had a top performing employee confide that they were battling panic attacks daily and could not understand why. Yet they felt the need to work an unhealthy amount of hours and continually worried about the security of their job. They were praised constantly for being a “yes” person but they were plagued with stress and insecurity. This is par for the course at Impulsify. Once you see the toxic culture built on nepotism and mediocrity, it’s easy to stop smiling. And that’s when you become a target. It does not matter the personal connection or years of loyalty invested into the family. The minute you show any dissatisfaction with the poor and unprofessional treatment received, you better have a new job lined up. It does not matter if you have just cause. They might claim to want to fix things but it is a lie as there is zero effort to do so. There is no HR, just emotional and personal knee-jerk reactions which put others in the uncomfortable position of doing the CEO’s dirty work. Those people do not even realize they are being lied to until it is too late. You cannot maintain integrity and continue to work at Impulsify. It’s all politics…which you will also hear endless disturbing political rants during your time there. While everyone says they love working at Impulsify, the truth is everyone walks on egg shells. The turn over is unreal for such a small company and it’s not because of the pandemic or people being bad employees. They have lost quite a few of their top performers due to the toxic culture and problematic behavior of the family. The family members are so poorly behaved yet protected due to their “loyalty” to the CEO. The CEO may speak the language of feminism but she is a purveyor of toxic masculinity, acknowledging some of the issues then stating it is not going to change. Impulsify has so much potential but personal shortcomings and blind allegiance keep it from being all it can be. I am thankful I saw things for what they are and the value of my contributions clearly. I, like many who are no longer there, could not be happier and have found a healthy professional environment to flourish in. As family members have posted fake reviews to make Impulsify look better than what it is, I wanted to leave this so anyone researching can see the truth and validity of other reviews. Save yourself the trouble by going elsewhere. Or take the job and find out that things are not as they appear. Good luck, you’ll need it!
