Great team. Very energetic and friendly. You really don't mind coming to the office every day.
If you are one of the event organizers, you will travel to a lot of places.
Cons
The company is scaling up, which means that a lot of processes are not in place. You have two options: either you do the processes yourself or you won't be able to perform well.
If you are not part of the event, you won't be able to join the trips and fun parts of the company.
Incredibly sociable office and great people to work with. I happily spend a lot of time socialising outside the office with many of my colleagues. Inside the office, there's a tremendous sense of camaraderie, particularly in the run-up to a Conference.
Smart people work here too, so there are opportunities to learn.
Generous compensation
The company is selling a product that people really want. The year on year growth of the conferences demonstrates that and this makes it an exciting place to be.
Beyond that, there is a great, social team of people
Cons
There are the challenges that all young high-growth companies have.
The company was acquired almost a year ago and now operates under a US listed parent company, bringing strong structure, governance, and long term stability
Very well organised environment with clear processes and direction
Excellent office location with all equipment and resources fully provided
Strong onboarding and training programme since joining, making it easy to ramp up quickly
Open culture where new ideas are welcomed and creativity is actively encouraged
Teams genuinely listen to each other and collaboration is a real priority
Since becoming part of Emerald, employees benefit from a wide range of amenities and strong internal support for anything work related
Leadership is highly supportive, with a CEO who is approachable, understanding, and genuinely invested in the team
Clear strategic ambition to become the world’s largest insurance conference platform
Unique opportunity to travel to high profile international conference locations
Young team with great energy, motivation, and strong communication across the organisation
Cons
The organisation operates in a fast paced and ambitious environment where priorities can evolve as the business grows. This requires adaptability and a proactive mindset, particularly during busy periods. While some processes are still being refined, the culture encourages ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
A great experience. The highlight of my unexpectedly brief tenure at Insurtech Insights was the privilege of working under David Martin. David is not only a successful and experienced salesman - he is also adept at passing on the wealth of knowledge that he possesses to the new, and often fairly green, sales reps that he regularly recruits and transforms into competent salesmen and women. In my case, he provided an efficient yet comprehensive crash-course to sales in just 3 days, and supplemented this with a host of on-the-job advice interventions and 1-on-1 call reviews. Moreover, he is very personable and reasonable, and fosters a very friendly team culture that makes work genuinely enjoyable. He is a true pleasure to work under. If you want to learn how to sell (and have a great time doing it), work for David.
Although I did not work for the marketing team at Insurtech Insights, those who did said much the same about Stuart Ledden - that he is a highly experienced marketing professional and is a true pleasure to work for.
Cons
The policy of 5-days per week in the office perhaps makes sense in terms of productivity, but the fact is that it’s not a common policy compared with other roles. It could be accounted for by offering slightly higher base salary rates.
