Pros

Decent compensation, good benefits, paycheck deposited on time all the time. General staff and teams are great people from great backgrounds and easy to work with. Flexibility for life events and schedules. Compensation for extended camp stays.

Cons

Senior mgmt. in woodlands is of the "old culture" and promoted to position through time invested, not qualifications. Mgmt. act with low integrity and do not honor agreements or commitments to lower-level staff. Lots of false promises. Expectations of time committed to the company are unreasonable. Little to no acknowledgement of quality jobs or extra efforts by mgmt. Appears that the only way to move up in Company is to brown nose senior mgmt and sacrifice personal life. New ideas are either thrown out in favor of old 'ruts' or stolen without acknowledgement. Employees expected to drive broken down pickups from the 90's and early 2000's yet management wonders why production always lags. Safety leadership is in lip service only. Mgmt. view costs as blockade to improving safety. Discipline notices for incidents = culture tendency to leave unsafe issues unreported. Company tenure is only on remote locations on BC coast, requiring lots of camp work.

Pros

Willingness to spend on employee social events and formal training programs. Amazing office views. Some really dedicated and smart people.

Cons

- no focus on any kind of diversity, especially at the leadership level where everyone from director level and up is white and mostly male - no efforts from management to develop corporate culture - people in Accounting are expected to work weekends and evenings but are never provided any flex time to make up for their after-hours work - people fear going to HR about issues because there is fear that HR will label them as problematic and they will be terminated - there are many examples of the boys club at the top hiring and promoting their friends - lots of remote workers and consultants who rarely show their face in the office but yet local workers are not trusted to work from home

Pros

- Some great initiatives to motivate employees but these seem to be more historical and current leadership is just lazy about getting anything new to the table - decent pay -

Cons

Some very bad management behaviours are tolerated. Good people are let go regularly and replaced with highly paid consultants Some very toxic areas of the business - I worked closely with IT and HR and they were the worst Bad behaviour is tolerated for many, many years with very little done to help correct. Old school thinking - not willing to be innovative or be open minded to new ideas
