Big company practices in a small business, and not the good ones
Pros
The pros of this company are the people that work in it every day. The engineers, the leads, i.e. the ones that keep the place running. The closeness that is promoted here is what is attractive about working here. The location, work policy of "work as long as it get done" is great as well.
Cons
The unfortunate side of this company is the senior management. and that they appreciate their customer contracts more than their employees. We've lost several outstanding engineers to other opportunities. Mostly due to the fact that the management keeps them on the same project for years without re-assignment. Where's the money? - There have been large pay cuts to certain teams in past years, and raises last year were almost non-existent for most of the company. There have been no Christmas bonuses in several years. Disconnected - The owners tend to only hang out with their college friends who they hired from the beginning. Rarely do I see them interact with new workers. Or existing ones Castle with no king - The president of the company is almost never in the building. Save for pay day when paychecks get handed out, which is something our HR person use to do.
