Pros

Nice colleagues who's still holding on to the last bits in the company

Cons

Working at KKday was one of the most disappointing experiences of my career. The management severely lacks transparency and treats employees like disposable tools, people are laid off suddenly without proper communication or justification. They constantly talk about “AI innovation” and “growth hacking,” yet after months, there’s been absolutely no real progress or investment. The tech team has practically all left. Imagine a travel tech company without a proper tech team! Meanwhile, they still claim to be data-driven just because they use Tableau for daily tracking, even though no one actually knows how to analyze or leverage the data meaningfully. The company is under heavy budget pressure across all departments. Be prepared to do the work of three people with minimal support. Management simply follows investor instructions, and when investors push for cost-cutting, they execute layoffs instantly. Leadership at both the CEO and finance level feels disconnected and reactive. During interviews, everything sounds promising but don’t be fooled. The reality is completely different once you join. The environment is unstable, directionless, and lacks any real commitment to employee growth or innovation.

A House Built on Sand: Why I Can't Recommend Working at KKday

Pros

My experience with KKday has been deeply disappointing and marked by fundamental problems stemming from a toxic culture and deeply flawed leadership, particularly from Taiwan management. The reality of the work environment fell far short of any professional standard. Dedicated Colleagues: The employees themselves are the best part of the job; team members are generally friendly, dedicated, and supportive of each other. Basic Compensation: The company offers competitive salaries and decent basic benefits, meeting the minimum requirements for the industry.

Cons

Toxic & Corrupt Management Culture: The culture is rooted in internal politics and a pervasive "yes-man" attitude, especially within Taiwan management. They avoid direct confrontation, offer only superficial, rosy feedback instead of useful criticism, and actively sweep real problems under the rug. They often avoid employees entirely when issues arise. Untrustworthy Leadership: The lack of transparency starts at the top. The COO displays a profound lack of integrity, and many senior members of management make promises only to undermine you behind your back. Compromised HR Department: Do not trust HR; they function as puppets of the management rather than an objective resource for employees. No Investment in People/Morale: The company clearly does not invest in its employees or team morale. There is no team bonding budget, and we were expected to pay for our own drinks during festive events. Gender Bias: I personally experienced unacceptable bias, including having someone question how my gender could have qualified me for a certain role, highlighting an unprofessional and outdated mindset. Instability and High Turnover: The company is plagued by frequent layoffs, creating a stressful, insecure, and high-turnover atmosphere. Substandard Work Environment: While the location may be good, the actual office space is cramped, dirty, and dusty, which further detracts from the daily work experience. Lack of Direction & Innovation: There is an absence of clear leadership, with outdated internal systems, a lack of a global mindset, and a resistance to change that significantly hinders the company’s ability to compete and innovate.
