Pros

Work from home OK commission structure Mostly pleasant colleagues

Cons

- Old-school recruitment micromanagers (mostly from SThree). - Workr software requires your webcam to be on all the time so management can watch you in your own home to ensure you're working. - They use a mobile app which records the number and duration of phone calls. - I joined in a cohort of 6-7 people which they called the 'Academy' however everyone left within 6 months. - Management asked us to work longer hours to compensate for not having to commute. They would simultaneously claim not to care what hours we work as long as we get the job done, but then go on (and on and on and on) about work hours. - Non-existent client base or candidate network. - Only one person in the office was billing anything whilst I was there, perhaps the cause of (or caused by?) the micro-management and unnecessary pressure. - Low salaries.

As always we thank you for your honest feedback and we will take on board all your points. It's great to be recognised in the same category as SThree Plc, after all, SThree still is one of the most successful recruitment companies in the world today. We all work from anywhere we choose to at KnownFour. In order that we are able to do this without the isolation and wellbeing issues often associated with remote or home-based working, it was decided that we should be "present" in the virtual office as often as possible. Something that we had the foresight of under the current circumstances. All our employees are connected to each other like a real office environment using Wurkr - to ensure that you do not feel disconnected, lonely and isolated. There is nothing big brother about it and it ensures everyone is working and supported together, not alone. We run academies for 6 months to separate those that are able to work in this sales environment and progress on becoming Recruiters. The mobile app you are referring to is BT's VOIP solution which is used by hundreds of thousands of users around the UK to make calls from anywhere, and as with "ALL" digital telephone systems, it provides the business with analytics of usage, it does not record what you are saying. We are sorry that you were not happy working here and wish you would have shared your experience with me directly at the time. Best of luck with your future career endeavours.

Pros

Some good supportive staff and team environment at times

Cons

The company professes to be all about work life integration and balance, however after looking to return to work after my maternity leave, I was made feel very isolated and ask when doing my keeping in touch days what value would I add in these days and what money I could bring in otherwise they were pointless. It was never about me integrating into the company again after been a top biller at one point . It was only about what they could gain from me. All previous flexibility arrangements I had were denied at my return to work and I was pushed out . The last month of my maternity was ruined by worrying about what I could do for work as I could not work around their new requirements and lost complete faith in a company I used to hold in a high regard . Thankfully I gained a new role before needing to go back .

Thank you for your honest feedback and we will take on board all your points. We offer every employee a 100% home-based working solution, and these "flexibility arrangements" are never taken away. We offer part-time, full-time, flexible working, allowing parents school drops and pick-ups, and every one of our employees working from anywhere our solution is certainly extremely "flexible". All our employees are connected to each other like a real office environment using our tech platform - to try to ensure that every employee does not feel disconnected, and isolated. We have never knowingly "pushed" anyone out of the business. We offer every return to work employee the same job, same terms and conditions. It's not always possible to offer all the changes to these terms that people might request - and perhaps this led you to the conclusion that you couldn’t continue. We are sorry that we did not meet your expectations on this occasion and wish you luck with your future career.

Pros

KnownFour is a real 21st Century Business - the company embraces tech and maximises it to create a true Work-Life Integration by allowing us to be based anywhere yet enjoy a community and day to day collaboration with the team. I do not know any other Recruitment business that would enable me work around the needs of my family whilst at the same time maximising on my skills, experience and overall career development. Great culture, fantastic people, superb investment in Toolkit not to mention achievable and high value commission.

Cons

As it's not a standard remote working model it's not totally isolating however it does take discipline and self motivation to be able to work in this way.
