Pros

Strong hands-on exposure to incident response in a 24/7 SOC environment Experience with tools like Splunk, WithSecure EDR, Hive, and IDS/IPS Opportunity to investigate phishing, malware, and network traffic in real-time Supportive team that encourages collaboration and knowledge sharing Fast learning curve for junior analysts and good exposure to client-facing security work

Cons

Limited opportunities for long-term career progression within the company Processes and documentation still developing, requiring adaptability Some resource constraints meant juggling multiple priorities at once. Leadership style can sometimes feel strict and not always supportive, which may affect morale.

Pros

Working at KryptoKloud enabled me to get my start in the Cyber Security field. It was a fantastic opportunity and I was able to learn a lot while working on the job. The team is fantastic, and I have met some amazing peers and was able to work alongside those with more knowledge than me that I could learn from. The office is nice and sets a decent environment for me and others to work together. The office provides refreshments such as good coffee, fruit and a sweet jar! I got to take part in some exciting team days out with my co-workers and friends while on the job. The SOC team is hardworking and friendly, the sales team are a great laugh, and the administrative team were very friendly and kind. While I worked at KryptoKloud I was very comfortable around my colleagues, and they were always willing to help. At KryptoKloud you will find a solid SOC team for you to work with and you will rarely have an issue with another employee from my experience. Finally, I was able to learn a certification for a commercial software platform that is very transferable.

Cons

No workplace is perfect and KryptoKloud has a long way to go to reach even close to perfection. I will bullet point my cons to better structure how I feel: - The EDR is not very good. It misses basic features, causes most technical complications and is very slow. - The EDR comes lazily bundled with many different solutions that do not mesh too well together and does not keep you logged in to the other portals, so you must constantly authenticate, when it even loads. - The process trees do not show the full scope of information required making remediation hard. - The Portal is riddled with bugs. - The EDR does not provide a proactive solution and gets in the way more than it helps. The operations: - The manning is volatile. With a high staff turnover, There is a constant shift in the rota and you probably won’t get notified it has changed. Additionally, anti-social shifts and staggered days off are common. - There are not many official processes in place. It can be hard to find contact info, incident responses, detection, and response process, etc if they even exist at all! Mostly, this information is not there or outdated. - The CEO has been known to make strange comments and act in certain ways which make others feel uncomfortable, both scenarios I have witnessed first-hand.

Pros

The actual team I first joined was unbelievable; they were some of the most insightful and caring people u have met.

Cons

My time at KryptoKloud (KK) was a brief but genuinely awakening experience, sadly not for the right reasons. On my first week at KK, I joined a weekly client call with another analyst; the CEO joined the call and proceeded to take over the call, the CEO began berating the other analyst on the call for failing OSCP, discussing how this employee had cost them so much money and still couldn’t pass it. This call was with one of the largest clients and made all parties feel incredibly uncomfortable. This interaction set the tone for my time there. Once off the call, I felt so uncomfortable with what had happened and attempted to reassure them that it was okay that they failed what is a challenging exam, they then told me that they took no note of it because it was normal for the CEO to berate staff, even in front of clients. This experience traumatised me, knowing that the CEO has built this cult-like environment where it is normalised to treat staff in this way and not even care about them. I have heard directly from people who have since posted positive reviews that they were instructed to write them to drown out the negative reviews, this is due to CEO only caring about their image and ego, they are not able to take on the criticism and try to rebuild the company to make it a safe environment, instead the CEO is focused on continuing to damage the lives of ex-employees who are trying to express what their time at KK was like because the emotional damage the CEO caused was not enough. The CEO expects total and unfettered loyalty but will never even show you an ounce of respect and then questions how staff can be so disloyal as to leave the company when he refuses to show staff any form of appreciation or pay them fairly. Senior staff facilitate and are complicit in the CEO’s behaviour, they acknowledge that it is wrong, but that’s what the CEO wants and “that’s what you do in the military and so that’s what you will do here”. At the end of the day, KK is nothing but a delusion of this fantastic company which only exists inside the head of the CEO and a series of meaningless screens on a wall. So please don’t believe what so many others have, that this is an actual SOC, it will not be long before you realise, and then you’re trapped.
