Pros

CEO, Wife, Daughters and Son are the nicest and most delightful humans. Absolutely. And so were most of the staff. However, there was a lack of communication, time management and project management priority. This was across all departments. The woman who was the CEO's right hand woman (for most of 2021-2022) would scream at the top of her lungs across the office at people and act like it was ok to be mean and abusive. Chris, being the big hearted man he is, generally got taken advantage of. He was VERY giving with what he had when he had it to give. He would play staff games and do little bets and if he lost the bet pay the staff. He had a light and happy attitude. But definitely didn't give enough attention to real issues within the company. A lack of direction and a lack of focus on the really important things and trusting the wrong people I feel happened more than it should have. His main assistant was smart, and someone that did not mess around. She was top dog for sure. But Chris tended to listen or lean his ear towards the wrong people and not pay attention to the most important aspects of what was going wrong in different departments and immediately shutting down the wrong people or wrong things.

Cons

Very low pay. Overtime was expected for a while but no overtime pay, eventually a sales manager stopped that within many departments. Management took full credit for other staff initiatives that were put in place from hard working staff members. Never truly credited for the work done. My coworkers never held their weight. No one went above and beyond. No loyalty. Was talked down too, mistreated, and coworkers (for lack of a better word) would dump all their work on me and do nothing of value or try to talk down ideas. A comprehensive brand guideline ,social media, writing and packaging materials created for every project for the company without any recognition. The marketing department staff was treated as the most disposable. Marketing managers would decided to start reinventing old projects and start them over again. Or would tell a staff member to not do what Chris or Sandra told them to do. HR did not have your back. Burnout and mental health issues happening all over every department from over working. But, like I said, the owners are actually really good people and very kind and very giving and DEFINITELY taken advantage of. The salary expectations are very low however I blame that on poor financial management, planning and accountants miscommunications, financial abuse from staff, poor sales leaders, poor sales pitches, and lack of consistency with deliverables. The company had potential to be great and lacked a clear and consistent plan in every single department. The high turnover made quality issues never to be solved and poor relationships being built with clients and staff. Big bills not being paid out created a poor PR and company image across many produce sectors. Money being spent and not budgeted properly for every department and not enough doubled up staff members to deal with the lack of knowledge base and influxes of turn over. Two of every staff member would have been ideal for training purposes or more internal training modules put in place for each department would have helped. The food quality and the farms being run was also a HUGE issue. Within the packaging area for the cucumbers machines there was not proper ventilation. Which meant the entire building was filled with exhaust smoke that filed workers lungs for hours on end. No proper ventilation and the food being exposed to this. Management knew it wasn't safe. Everyone was forced to work in that environment for months on end knowing that the ventilation wasn't up to code at all when the machine was installed. No action put in place to fix this very serious health and safety issue. Very unsafe and potentially the cause for Cancer in many staff members, I'm sure.
