Pros

Fully remote. Lack of unnecessary meetings. Day to day job was enjoyable and interesting. Immediate team was a joy to work with and I was lulled into feeling secure here.

Cons

Manner in which layoffs were conducted paints company in a different light. It's funny how the people who always pay for leadership mistakes are never leadership themselves. It's remarkable that, across companies, managers get praise for both making good hires, and for making tough cuts, even if doing the latter means the former was a result of poor foresight. Some impressively cold moves this company pulled during lay-offs: - Making employees* pay to send back equipment... You can't do a pre-paid label, seriously? Sure, we got reimbursed, but the request reeks of contempt. - Frugal severance -- not only are student loans coming back, but say goodbye to your healthcare almost right away. Genuinely impressive how much hardship they are willing to inflict without so much as thanking us for what we've contributed, even as our work is clearly still generating value for the company, as evidenced by how much our work is still being promoted - Harvesting ideas from employees mere days before laying them off. - Eliminating a department shortly before student loan payments resume - No real explanation of layoffs beyond 'restructuring.' Yeah, obviously there's restructuring, that's about as specific as saying you're laying us off because you're letting us go. - Constantly shifting strategy - Very high healthcare premiums. .

Pros

Seeing what the cannabis space had to offer. Substantially increased Instagram following within the first month of employment but that was overlooked and dismissed.

Cons

Pitched several proposals and when I got to the company my role changed at least 3 different times. Railroaded by the tyrants that are higher up in the company and gaslit everything I was saying without feedback or the opportunity to adjust. Poor leadership Tone-deaf vision Shady business practices Bad pay

Considering Leafwell? Don't.

Pros

I met some of the most dedicated, passionate, and talented people in my career during my time at Leafwell.

Cons

I don’t regret joining Leafwell because it was a great experience initially. However, the company quickly transitioned to a very micromanaging environment. Despite dedicating countless hours and contributing to the company's projects, financial recognition is nonexistent, and you’re treated as if you’re insubordinate for asking. This blatant disregard for employee contributions is not just unfair; it's insulting. The company operates on an absurd expectation that one person can handle the workload of several, a practice that's unrealistic and downright exploitative. I was submerged in a never-ending sea of tasks, only to be told my efforts were insufficient. This relentless demand to perform miracles, with little sincere acknowledgment or appreciation, is a recipe for disaster. Leafwell is a stark example of how a company should never operate, treating its employees as disposable tools rather than valued team members.
