Pros

Everyone outside Jeff is nice.

Cons

Jeff is a very toxic person who goes out of his way to yell at you and miss meetings over it. If you don't word an email almost exactly as he would, you'll have your job threatened.

Pros

You get to be hands on with multiple technologies from AWS to Azure to Office 365 as well as most firewall, network and server products. There is a blend of support and project work, which I like, but others can't handle well or prefer to be focused on only one or the other. Getting interrupted by project work when incoming support or email based requests come in, sucks, but if you're a decent multitasker, your day will fly by.

Cons

Everyone here is good at what they do. This means, you stick out like a sore thumb if you are not as disciplined as others or make mistakes. The team here really does expect everyone to be extremely thorough and to aim for perfection. THat's tough sometimes. Especially if you're new. Everything is a team based thing including conversations about what you should have done differently. That is new to me - your teammates - in the same role as you - and management all give feedback - good or bad as a team.

Pros

The job was entirely remote, which gives you some flexibility in when and how work gets done.

Cons

Didn't get paid for my time working there. The head of the company, Jeff Khan, was one of the worst bosses I'd ever worked for. He's very definitive about what he likes and doesn't like, which is great, but gives no details or explanation in how to achieve what he likes. Essentially, he'll say " I'll know it when I see it" -- I'm sorry, what? How is a new guy suppose to understand or develop with no clear direction? My first assignment there was to create a detailed architectural design document and diagram for a client, but I wasn't allowed to interact with the client until I had the document completed. What sense does that make? How does one make a true design document without calling the client and getting some understanding of how their environment is setup?? Not only that, but when I submitted multiple drafts of what I could come up with, Mr. Khan would criticize and curse constantly, complaining that the work wasn't of an acceptable quality. If you're ever looking to IT consulting, and come across this organization, believe me -- go anywhere else.
