Pros

There honestly were not many pros. Decent base salary and you can manage territory how you want to as they have no idea what they are doing.

Cons

Upper management is in constant turmoil from corporate because they can't meet their wound care numbers. They have turned many good people over as scapegoats. Commissions are very low and they cap mileage forcing people to pay expenses out of pocket due to the amount of driving needed to cover a large territory. Installed CRM and have no idea how to use as a tool, rather they use it to create more work and appease parent company. Senior management of the company are very threatening and treats sales staff as commodity and "dime a dozen." All decisions are done on emotion and not logic or reason.

Pros

Descent base salary for 2nd wave of Advanced Clinical Specialists (ACS)

Cons

I can't believe these guys don't have any other reviews considering they have turned over a few full sales teams (including management) in less than four years. Place reminds me of the movie “Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitters Dead.” You'll barely make $100K here, which was not a pro for me and others considering we resigned from prior jobs making more money, but were told we'd make $150K here because their flagship product was “flying off the shelves.” It’s definitely not as four years after the initial product launch; they celebrate order sizes for less dollars than in my personal checking account. I believe their advanced wound care team will not be around or significantly reduced/consolidated (already piloting this consolidation) in 2019, which will be a telling year for them as a company. There is very poor transparency, trust and communication from senior management. Huge distrust amongst reps towards management for good reason. Everyone is looking for a new gig. Team calls and meetings are embarrassing and a waste of time. Reps text during them about how pointless they are and need to find another job. The only thing that keeps people here is that it is a super easy job for the pay. Call it complacency. L&R basically hung their hats on one wound care product, which has not taken off no matter how much money they throw at clinical studies to differentiate it from traditional gauze. Speakers for the product don’t even purchase in their own practices due to cost and lack of need. The flagship product is priced so high, it is not sustainable for a department to buy repeatedly or even once. No new real product launches coming which is concerning. Plan changes constantly because they are desperate to find something that works.

Pros

You will get a paycheck every two week Management is clueless as to what’s going on You work from home and make your own schedule so it's very flexible You can expense food and mileage

Cons

This place is toxic. Leadership is the most unethical, unprofessional and nastiest person. They'll fire anyone at the drop of a hat because dont care. There is no empathy for employees and treats everyone like a slave. They are never willing to help or lead or be a true mentor. Leadership would rather celebrate losing than winning. I don’t think Germany has a clue as to what’s happening nor do they know the number of sales reps and managers that have been let go for no reason. Lack of trust and transparency from Leadership LRUSA The sales division is run on an outdated CRM system that doesn't include pipeline management so you are only as good as the orders you "might" see come through. • Leadership treats everyone like dogs and doesn’t understand the selling process in hospital/IDN sales – just says SELL SELL SELL • Every year has the same strategy that fails and they never change • You cover multiple states and they cap mileage reimbursement at 200 miles/day • The flagship product Debrisoft is overpriced • Sales quotas are unattainable and unrealistic • Commissions are not accurate and no one gets credit for all their sales • Internal support (customer service) is clueless • Healthcare/benefits are extremely expensive and suck • No career growth opportunity • Outdated CRM that makes you a data entry specialist Bottom line to anyone interviewing for a sales position: STAY AWAY! The only reason I would tell you to interview and try to get a job is if you are trying to break in to medical sales it is somewhere to be for a year to put on your resume. The advanced wound care division is an absolute MESS! Leadership of this division is absolutely clueless about the market and just doesn’t get it. They treat everyone like slaves and is very rude if you’re not one of their favorites. Leadership lies over and over and is not transparent about what’s going on. My favorite is that on our monthly/weekly calls leadership says, “we are not a hire and fire company; we are a family company.” WRONG! They are a fire then hire company! They’ve been through countless managers and the turnover rate of reps is ridiculous!Leadership was so out of touch with all the reps and had no idea what was going on. Leadership would preach that they spoke to every rep daily and was involved, however, no one ever heard from them and they would never call people back. . It’s the type of management that works against you instead of with you. There are no team building activities at National Sales Meetings and everyone is on their own little island. They have recently hired a new sales manager but I can’t speak on how he is as I recently resigned. PRODUCT(S): or lack there of. They have a full line of advanced wound care products but only focus on their flagship product of Debrisoft. Debrisoft is a fancy $12 gauze pad used to clean wounds – it doesn’t sell. They do have other wound care products like foam dressings and alginates, but they are not a focus and don’t seem to care to sell them. Debrisoft does just under $1M in sales annually and they think it’s a $20M/year product! QUOTA/COMPENSATION: Each rep has a annual quota of around $420,000, however, most reps average about $4000-$12,000 in Debrisoft sales monthly. You only get paid on growth over prior year. There are a max of 1 or 2 reps that actually make $ in commissions. If you do interview, ask to see sales rankings for 2017/2018 and you will see the discrepancy and huge swing in what reps are doing. There is one guy who has been there for 25 years and covers half the country and is the only one selling. Make sure you see the rankings for ALL the reps and not just the top 1 or 2. They paid a nice base salary of around $85,000 and total package was $150,000, however, only 1% would ever clear $100k. It’s an absolute joke! On top of that, they use an outdated software system to get tracings from the distributors our products go through. Reps are constantly having to question their tracings because orders are missing and negative numbers show up on the reports. I think most reps don’t care because they have a second job! Since I left I’ve heard they are hiring young, inexperienced reps who have no medical sales background. In fact, one person came from Staples! That tells me they are just filling the position to have a body and paying them $40-50k/year. This is their way of fixing the bottom line and trying to save $$. CULTURE: TOXIC. THREATENING. SAD. LONELY. The culture is just god awful. There used to be a great team of reps who were really good and an awesome manager, however, most of those reps are gone and the manager is gone. Internally no one has a clue of what they are doing. There are some good people in marketing, but I think their hands are tied so it’s tough on them. When everyone gets together for NSM, there are no team building activities after sitting in a conference room all day and they serve the nastiest food at the cheapest hotels! No one has fun and everyone complains. On our weekly sales calls, most reps are texting each other because the stuff they talk about is just down right dumb. If I had to guess 75% of the current reps are either looking for jobs or they have a second job. LR will continue to spend thousands of dollars on clinical studies thinking that will aid in sales growth. WRONG. They’ve been doing it for 4 straight years and the numbers never come close to what the goals are. They have until 2020 to make this successful and with 1 year left, bad management, poor leadership and most of the good reps gone, I highly doubt they will come close to hitting 30% of their goal. The craziest thing is that the clinicians that they pay to do clinical studies and white papers DON’T EVEN USE DEBRISOFT! That should tell you something. I am honestly shocked that corporate LR in Germany has kept the same leadership for 4+ years now. Every year is a failure and they continue to start each year with the same ideas/strategies thinking “this is our year.” I will be shocked if the wound care division will be here 2 years from now. They have already started transitioning some of the compression sales reps into selling wound care. They have also started firing all the reps who’ve been there for 2 years because of their high salaries. They need to cut costs to make the numbers look better and that’s their strategy. Pay someone $40k/year instead of $85k/year to make Debrisoft numbers look better! Bottom line: This place is a sinking ship. Stay far away. Don’t let them tell you, “these glassdoor reviews you are reading are from disgruntled employees who were terrible at sales and are just writing reviews because they are mad.” We are writing reviews because we don’t want other competent people to go through hell for 2 years of their career to just hit a dead end. I feel like I’ve just wasted 2 years of my life and career by working for these low life, lying, untrustworthy lazy leadership team. I hope this helps you stay far away. They don’t deserve to have anyone with integrity and good work ethic come in because they will stab you in your back. If you do interview here; ask lots of questions and ask to see all the evidence of numbers.
