Family companies have down sides.

Pros

You will never feel bored here. There is a lot to do! People are, in general, friendly.

Cons

It isn't uncommon to see people within the family or "higher ups" to advance in their careers very quickly. Management needs formal training.

Privately-held company offers more of a "family" atmosphere than some corporate environments. Aggressive in pursuing new business and building current businesses. Open to ideas from employees at all levels. You can often choose your own employment path.

Cons

No defined career path and shallow employment structure - you're either at the bottom or the top.

While we are a relatively flat organization, we recognize the same need that you’ve identified and have a growing number of employees and managers who partner on development/career paths and are already seeing results.
