      Things Continue to Go Down Hill

      Pros

      Easy work. Good team mates in Plano office. Office Improved. They just fired the CEO. The Chairman is a nice guy. The HR director is nice. Free Snacks.

      Cons

      Failure to meet our sales goals. Rumors of large layoffs. Rumors they are trying to sell the company. Lack of confidence in the interim CEO. Lack of confidence in the rest of the leadership team. They are cutting costs. They gutted the benefits. Communication is very poor.

      Thank you for your review, we appreciate everyone sharing their thoughts with us. However, we are concerned about the nature of this review, as many of the points made are simply inaccurate. The CEO resigned for purely personal reasons and we are currently searching for a new CEO. Sales goals are not only being met, they are being exceeded, which is very exciting for us to see as a company. There are no plans for layoffs and we are currently hiring for several positions. There are also no plans for selling the company. We understand that the current benefit plan is not ideal and efforts are being made to change the benefits. We are constantly working to improve communication and in doing so, we are as transparent as possible, lying is not beneficial to anyone in the company and is not condoned. If you are concerned about rumors, we encourage you to talk with your manager, HR, the Chairman, or the interim CEO.

      Still a great company to work for

      Pros

      Despite its recent growth maintains its start-up coolness. We're always busy! - sometimes this can lead to stress but for most of us here it energizes us.

      Cons

      A lot of new people added over the past couple years. Dust is starting to settle but requires a lot of ramping up and investment. Major office move and construction had a minor impact but given the company's heritage of people working from home was not too disruptive.

      Thank you for your review. We are glad that you enjoy working at Lucernex, as we try to make Lucernex be a place where everyone enjoys working. There have been several changes, including many new employees in the past couple of years, but that is just part of a successful growing company. Our executive team really makes an effort to be as transparent as possible and share all that they can with employees, whether through our quarterly employee meetings or by individually talking with people. We have an open door policy and encourage everyone to use it.

      Great Place to Work with Great Employees

      Pros

      I can honestly say that Lucernex is the best company I have ever work for. It isn’t because of the benefits or even the pay, but rather it is the people at Lucernex that make Lucernex special. I feel like I have great co-workers who really care about the company and each other. We don’t have silos and share information. People from different departments often take lunch together and you can often hear laughter throughout the building. I don’t mind spending time with my co-workers whether inside or outside of the office. I love and look forward to our monthly happy hours. Although everyone works hard, we are able to maintain a good work life balance through flexible scheduling, opportunities to work from home, unlimited time off and several other nice ways to make it easy to maintain a work-life balance. In addition to having great co-workers, I really believe senior management cares about employees. This shows in the medical and dental benefits, which are paid for at 100% for us and our families. Every employee also has the opportunity to purchase stock options. In addition, employees are given opportunities to work in different areas of the company, if they think they would like something else better. I like going to work every day and I haven’t always been able to say that.

      Cons

      Although Lucernex is a great place to work, no place is perfect. There are several things that management could do to make Lucernex even better. The first would be to pay a bit more, I know our benefits our fully covered, but I still feel like I could make more elsewhere. Second, some type of match on the 401k. Third, a bonus program for everyone. Fourth, more recognition, everyone works hard, but we only recognize one employee a quarter. Fifth, a more robust benefits package to include vision, disability and maybe even life insurance, as these seem to be standard at other companies. Sixth, more community involvement. Seventh, I wish we would recycle. Even though that seems like a long list, most of this is tolerable because of the culture that exists.

We are constantly striving to make Lucernex a better place to work and this includes looking at compensation practices and reviewing our benefits package. We agree that more can be done with recognition and we are looking for ways to improve in this area, although we have seen a lot of success with the Employee of the Quarter program. As for community involvement, this is another area we see for opportunities and we are looking for ideas from employees. Although we would like to recycle, we wanted to recycle, but there is no recycling pick-up for our area. If this ever changes, we will start recycling. Again, thank you for your review.
