Good company to stay due to stability and unaffected due to recession or other external factors

Slow growth and decisions are not made quickly. Decisions have to be run through many levels before implementation.

Pros

Decent salary and good 401k program

Cons

1. Everyone has an ego. Everyone is out to get each other and will stomp over you the first chance they get. 2. Upper management will give you a task and 5 days later you'll be asked why you're working on the very same thing they tasked you with doing. 3. Upper management promotes unqualified and unfit people into leadership positions 4. Only certain teams or groups of people get recognized and are heavily awarded while other teams who work equally as hard go unnoticed. This causes a lot of animosity among colleagues. 5. There are no clear career paths within the company. There are no performance goals to achieve, making promotions extremely difficult, unless you are a personal friend of senior management. Any "advancements" that management tries to give you to "develop your resume" are strictly to put out any fires they don't know how to handle otherwise. 6. HR isn't consistent with office policies when it comes to the different office locations. Some offices have elaborate holiday parties while others just get a free lunch. 7. Upper management has a "buddy system". If there's a Director or VP position open, you can expect someone from Maersk is going to fill that position. The majority of the higher ups all came from Maesrk so it's becoming obvious that they're taking care of their old work pals by getting each other into senior management.
