      Great Company, Amazing Team

      Pros

      I have been working for them since April 2018! It’s been a great ride, I have worked hard and gotten help from many levels helping customers succeed! The team from top management to fellow consultants is amazing and extremely talented.

      I wish I’d found MariaDB sooner :)

      Workplace driven by ego and hierarchy over good ideas

      Flexible hours, good vacation, remote work.

      Cons

      The only thing that seemed to matter was what had already been communicated. Management had told the CEO about project A (which was nonfunctional and lacking even basic quality), so project A was continued. It was irrelevant whether an idea was good, just how well it was politically communicated. Once started, a project was never altered or reversed. A very frustrating place to work for someone that wants to make a real impact.

      Pros

      Plenty of opportunity to fix things and gain experience in a variety of areas. Leverages the reputation of MySQL as core product. Unfortunately, it is now outdated with limited scope for growth in today's market. Some good talent coming through misled by its new silicon valley presence, but they usually leave pretty fast.

      Cons

      The company is missing strategic & ethical leadership at the top, with a small closed door executive team. Employees feel disengaged, burnt out and not respected, with only the ones with non-marketable skills staying on for job security.
