A supportive, ambitious agency that values its people
Pros
Writing this as one of the Company Directors at Media Forty Two, but also as a young(ish) woman that started working in media nearly 10 years ago. The work we do at Media Forty Two is of a high standard, and it genuinely feels like we offer something different in a competitive landscape. There is trust, collaboration and transparency across employees, clients and suppliers, which makes it a positive environment to be part of. At a time when many companies, agencies included, are making people redundant because of AI, Media Forty Two’s message has remained clear: the people in the company are the most important part of the business. At the same time, the company continues to stay ahead of AI developments and integrate them into workflows in a way that makes us more efficient, rather than replacing the value people bring. Media Forty Two is a fast-growing company, and it has been amazing to see how much we have grown over the three and a half years I’ve worked here. I am now just about to go on maternity leave, and Media Forty Two has been nothing but supportive throughout this journey. The maternity and paternity leave policies are generous, and I have felt no pressure or concern about taking time away. Everyone has been incredibly supportive and flexible, which has made this stage feel much easier.
Cons
As previous reviews have said, we are predominantly a remote company. However, there has been effort made for more face-to-face collaboration. Most weeks, there is a day in the office for those located in London. And then there are larger quarterly get-togethers, which include a team activity of some sort. The remote working is ideal for me, but is a preference thing for sure. We are a small, agile company, and because of that, we encourage people to work autonomously. Questions and curiosity are encouraged, but there is an expectation to be a self-starter, especially for more senior positions.
