Pros

It got me where I am with my current company. Mainly out of luck/timing and because my current employer likes me

Cons

I worked at MemoryBlue quite some time ago and never intended to do a review. But I decided to take a gander over some current reviews today and was annoyed with how many positive reviews there were. The reason for my being annoyed by this was because I and others in the past have been bribed to put positive reviews in this site, and there is no way so many people had this many positive experiences with this horrible company. So it is pretty safe for me to assume there were some unethical bribes going on recently - and that's just the start with the unethical practices of this company. Yes, the training is way below par of what they pitch to you in your interview, and yes the quotas are ridiculous and about 90% of the time, unattainable. But, what really blows me away about this company is how unethical they are. The minute there isn't a lot business fueling the company, they go for the tenured SDRs who aren't hitting their unattainable quota. They will put you on PIP and if times are really tough, they will cut your salary by 50% for that current month and promise to fire you if you don't hit your number. I kid you not, they do that. Sounds pretty illegal, if not, at least incredibly unethical. And if you do not agree to get paid 50% less than what your contract promises, they will tell you that you will get fired that day. Now THAT, is grounds for a lawsuit in itself. Now, let's address management. The level of maturity that management in the San Jose office has, is similar to the level of a 17 year old high school "mean girl". They will lie to you and give you zero insight on what is going with the client THAT YOU WORK WITH. I can't even tell you how many lies I and my colleagues were told, just to lie. Management will also bully you and belittle you to keep control - since they're practically the same age as the SDRs so I assume they probably feel the need to. If I were to give someone advice about potentially taking a position at this company, I would say...DON'T.

MemoryBlue Response

Thank you for posting anonymously on Glassdoor – this is the place where you’ve chosen to speak your mind, and we’d like to address some of these comments publicly. For starters, congratulations on coming through memoryBlue and ultimately getting hired out to a client. It’s your right to believe this positive result is “luck” -- though if that’s the case, we’ve had close to 300 “lucky” Alumni in our last decade of work. To us, this is proof positive that our hiring process, our extensive sales training methods (we can agree to disagree about the way you’ve downplayed it), our tech industry experience and our connections all come together to create this same situation over and over again. When you do something this long with the same results, it doesn’t feel like luck. As for your demonstrably false allegations of bribery and unethical behavior, again, it’s your right to say what you wish in this forum but none of this is even remotely true. It’s hardly worth addressing, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t at least state that for the record. When hundreds of hungry professionals are coming through our multiple offices over the years, having great experiences, and launching long and lucrative careers in the high-tech sales space, the positive reviews are not a surprise to us. The rest of your review doesn’t contain any facts or evidence of the allegations you present. If you have any, you have our open invitation to come to our offices or schedule a direct call with Chris or Marc (their door is always open) and discuss things any time. We wish you the best of luck with your sales career and we do hope you stick with sales.

Pros

My memory is too blue for this.

Cons

If you wanted all the "tea" on memoryPoo then keep reading. Most of the management people are allegedly on drugs and hooking up with entry-level positions. One of the current DMs got their role from hooking up with one of the highest higher-ups at the company trip, which you can probably figure out easily. Then and now dating another DM. Another story is a higher up using their red-nose in the company bathroom. I probably had the best experience at MemoryPoo but I would NEVER tell anyone to work here considering (a) the pay sucks, (b) the work environment is a literal frat house with their diversity being of alleged racists, homophobes, losers, and then the actual diversity barely making it through, (c) your work is purely based on your campaign that you do NOT choose. On another note, I hate when the other reviews are like "Well other reviews are complaining because of hard work, but that's what you got to do to survive in this company," because doesn't that just scream RED FLAGSSSS? All in consideration, hard work is expected but if you're putting in 50 hours a week for a company that's barely paying you 43k a year then might as well find a different sales job. This job is ONLY for college kids, which in itself causes MemoryPoo to ruin their reputation more from how young and inexperienced-intellectual their higherup employees can be. All I can leave you all with is if you want an unstable Frat House novela type of structure that will leave you traumatized and losing your hope in humanity then PLEASE work here. If not, PLEASE choose a different company.

Minorities Beware

Pros

Looks good on your resume

Cons

Management did not value or support their black employees and instead promoted a white frat atmosphere. They employed a known white supremacist and when complaints were made the response was that unless racist comments were made in the office they don't see an issue. Not to mention there was a manger with at least 6 Trump signs up that made people super uncomfortable. HR here is a joke and a lot of complaints go unsolved or addressed. There were tons of micro aggressive comments made and even derogatory names called that were swept under the rug. Management often labeled minority members as unprofessional, but allowed white employees to actually be unprofessional. For years they have been saying that they will make changes to make minorities more comfortable in their work environment, however it has only been talk. I am so disappointed in how some employees are treated at this company. Management was alerted to these concerns many times and continued to do NOTHING. Don't let the diversity photos fool you, it is not an inviting work environment for all.
