Unfortunately there is a culture of blame at New Look. The people in themselves are ok but not easy to actually work with, especially to start with. The staff turnover is very high. The time pressure and work load means no one wants to help, no one steps up or takes responsibility if things go wrong. It is hard to get things done or to get help from people. Generally other departments are unhelpful. The longer staff are there the less helpful they are, this is to stop them getting blamed for something.
New Look is the only place I have worked where people don't reply to your emails, never do the things they are tasked with at meetings, ignore you calling them (even if you know they are at their desks) and endlessly require you to book a meeting to ask them anything (which they don't show up to or are too 'busy' to schedule)
There are three types of people that get on well working at New Look Head office ,London.
1. People who have been there forever and will never leave
2. Young keen people with no industry experience, so know no different (they do all the work)
3. People who do it the New Look way, no other ideas.
New Look is not that keen on working from home, but depends on your manager on how flexible they are.
Overall I do not regret working for New Look. I found out what I was capable of and it challenged me in a way I could never of expected, but I would not go back.
