Pros

Upon joining Nyetimber I was blown away by the quality and dedication to the product and brand. The investment from the owner, and the talented teams of people around him who have created, developed and built the business is truly inspiring. You will find so many talented people within the company, from vineyard teams to winery experts, brand, events and the support functions. Nyetimber is a rare find in central London that can offer true work life balance for most roles. The company is still small enough to get to know most people and team structures are fairly flat so there is access to almost all leaders and managers. There are regular team wine tastings, great socials as well as learning more about the world of wine, beyond English Sparkling. Fruit and snacks in the office is a nice touch. Many of the employees have been with the company for several years offering knowledge and support to new starters.

Cons

Not really a “con”, just an observation as with any SME it can take a little time to adjust, if used to larger corporate environments.

Pros

Swanky London office Great Brand Presence Some lovely wines in the range

Cons

Look it’s been well documented over the years that it is a challenging place to work with fundamental issues around culture and leadership, so there’s little new I can add, but let’s be clear all the old issues remain and get slowly more pernicious If you’re considering joining Nyetimber do have a long hard think and do disregard the fake reviews on here which are easy to spot, as they’re glowing. Management structure in Nyetimber is in my view fatally flawed. The company is run by one man who I believe is uniquely unqualified to do so, something he admitted by stepping back and allowing a professional to do for one month only before re-seizing the reins. Those senior managers below him, in my view, survive less on their talent, but more on their sycophancy. Employees are kept in the dark, untrusted and undervalued and the churn the company suffers as a result is staggering, costly and detrimental to their success and profits Honestly I wouldn’t touch it with yours. Some nice wines produced but that is now an expectation and doesn’t set the brand apart from its peer group who are now overtaking it

Nyetimber Response

Thank you to the author(s) of the recent reviews, made in quick succession, for taking the time to provide feedback on working for Nyetimber. We do not consider the comments to be reflective of our organisation, corporate culture and values. It is always sad when former employees feel unhappy with an experience at work, and it is a shame when incorrect information is shared publicly. We feel the feedback does not reflect the majority of our employees who have a positive experience with us and are successful at Nyetimber, and with whom we have achieved so much already. We encourage staff to raise concerns or come with suggestions to their line manager or to the HR team and regret that those who reviewed here negatively, appear not to have done so. We wish you all the best in your future endeavours.
