Pros

I was lucky to be part of an amazing team. PTO hours rack up fast.

Cons

Low pay, no room for growth or career advance. work/life balance can be non-existing. Hires new staff and pays them more than tenured staff. Upper management needs a change.

Pros

Work with wonderful nurses and physicians, great teamwork, teaching hospital

Cons

Corrupt upper management, only care about saving a buck, even if it comes at the cost of unsafe staffing, sacrificing good patient care, and running off all experienced staff. Pay is lower than most other metro hospitals, despite being the only Level 1 Trauma Center and taking the sickest patients.

Pros

One of those job situations where the best thing is your coworkers but management makes work difficult.

Cons

Just an uphill battle to get upper management to listen to real concerns. Unfortunate.

Pros

Hours can be flexible, some awesome people stay despite the issues

Cons

Very low pay for anyone but nurses/Dr’s and minimum wage employees. The benefits cost continues to jump and options decline. Holiday bonus was equivalent to a 20$ gift card. Many positions require a BS/BA degree but pay 20$/hr. No funds for obtaining or maintaining licenses.

Pros

It's a job, that's all.

Cons

They over-hire, then float the life out of you. They also terminate like crazy. Upper management has no idea what's happening, which makes it hard for the employee to know what's going on. Not enough staff employed, they cannot keep core staff. Management and charge nurses are routinely contract. The south tower is a disgusting mess, every part of it needs to be re-done. Their standard of care is subpar. Everything about this place is better from the outside looking in, once you get in you are shocked at how much of a mess it is. Unsafe ratios, be prepared to have 10-15 patients as a CTA in the south tower while in the north tour they have much better ratios AND work atmosphere. Sucks. Parking is a nightmare. Just stay away so you don't have to quit.

Pros

Benefits are great for the cost, PTO is also excellent, my manager was communicative and transparent, I feel like upper management are trying to listen to employees and attempt to improve but it was at such a snails pace I'm not sure how effective that could be.

Cons

Appalling lack of information for employees. I have never worked for such a large organization that didn't have an employee manual? I couldn't find any information about how to leave the organization, which really solidified the fact that I needed to leave. No clear upward mobility/total lack of a career ladder, its clear they want the people they hired to come in and do the job they are hired for and when you don't like that job any more you leave.
