Pros

Good environment to learn a lot and nice co-workers

Cons

Toxic culture, micro-management, lack of communication, low salary, and no growth opportunities are some of the issues plaguing this organization. The HR department is the worst part of the company. They never respond to emails and will suck you in to do everything for the cheapest possible price. As an IT specialist, you’re expected to handle infrastructure, security, AV, and everything in between. If you complain or ask for a raise because none of these responsibilities are in your contract, they’ll threaten to fire you or refuse your raise. Everyone complains about HR, whether they’re in India or the US. There’s no clear hierarchy of management, and executives’ hands are tied to the HR department. There’s no clear structure of processes, and it’s all just an experiment. They conduct these experiments on lower-level employees, and if they miss the mark, no one is held accountable. They’ll ask you to work overtime and then withhold your income because they don’t pay overtime. It’s a complete mess.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you’ve had a positive experience in terms of learning opportunities, work environment, and peer support—these are areas we continuously strive to strengthen. We would also like to clarify a couple of points mentioned in your review. OculusIT does provide cab facilities for women employees working in night shifts, with a strong focus on safety and convenience. Additionally, while our roles are largely structured around on-site collaboration, we do offer work-from-home flexibility in specific situations based on role requirements and business needs. We appreciate your inputs, as they help us improve transparency and ensure that our policies are clearly communicated. Wishing you continued success in your career journey.

Pros

Great flexibility with remote work and a 'results-only' environment that respects personal time. Highly collaborative team where everyone is willing to jump in and help. Very inclusive atmosphere. Leadership is very transparent about company goals and provides regular, helpful feedback.

Cons

Expectation to be 'on-call' during evenings and weekends; boundaries are often blurred. Pay increases don't always keep up with the cost of living, and bonuses can be unpredictable. Focus on output rather than 'desk time.' Encouraging teams to truly unplug after hours will prevent burnout and improve long-term retention.

Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We’re pleased to hear that you value the flexibility, collaborative culture, and transparency from leadership at OculusIT. Creating an inclusive, supportive, and results-driven environment is something we consciously work towards, and it’s encouraging to see this reflected in your experience. We also appreciate your candid feedback on areas where we can improve. We understand that on-call expectations can sometimes blur boundaries, and we are actively working with our teams to ensure better planning, clearer communication, and a stronger emphasis on work-life balance so employees can truly unplug and recharge. Your input on compensation and bonus predictability is equally important. We continuously review our compensation structures to stay competitive and fair, and feedback like yours helps guide these discussions. Additionally, your suggestions around strengthening onboarding and introducing a more structured buddy system are well noted. We are currently working on enhancing our onboarding experience to ensure new joiners feel supported and set up for success from Day 1. Thank you once again for your valuable feedback, it helps us evolve and build a better workplace for everyone.
