Pros

Our team are some of the sharpest yet down to earth people you'll ever meet. We have some of the best people in the industry at what they do and everyone is still having a good time and being respectful while constantly push each other to be better.

Cons

An explosion of growth can often lead to growing pains. Until we settle with our explosiveness there just isn't enough time to do everything we need to do.

Pros

Remote only. Used to be a good place.

Cons

Things are really bad! Leadership is not in tune with what the employees are doing. There is a disconnect between leadership and employees who do the real work. Things have become really bad in the past six months. Leadership makes fake promises of improving things, but in the end, it only makes things worse for the people who do the work. A certain leader went on a listening tour and spoke for 23 minutes out of the 25 minutes allotted for listening to an employee. So you can imagine how much the leadership cares about its employees. One manager's modus operandi is to fire people on her team every few months. Good luck if you are on her team. Workload has increased, or in some cases, tripled, and pay has in fact decreased. Another leader claims that a certain task can be completed in 2 hours, whereas in reality it can take an entire week. Of course, that leader has never done any work at the ground level. Work gets dumped on you all the time!!

Pros

Work life balance used to be a thing

Cons

There are clear favorites, at least in the account management group. I just learned that one member of this group got 6 months of paid parental leave when 4 months is standard, was promoted during this time, and now has returned to work with a preferential arrangement worked out directly with her manager - she is working 3 days a week at full pay. As someone who was not afforded this opportunity, this is a major slap in the face. In comparison, an employee was fired by this same manager immediately after returning from FMLA leave. Much to think about.

If you would like to have a productive conversation about your experience at Ontra, we strongly encourage you to reach out to your manager or your People Business Partner. Note: We reported this review to Glassdoor because it’s factually incorrect. All employees have a standard parental leave policy. We do not have any full-time U.S. employees who have taken six months of paid parental leave and/or who work three days a week. - Elizabeth Black, VP of Talent
