Pros

I worked in Beautiful model homes and got to know several builders and team environment I learn more about the industry has flexible hours but you have to work two days to keep your status .

Cons

It's great if you're looking for a part-time job with flexible hours but beware if you want to go into new home sales full-time you' will never get hired on by another builder they never told us in any of the training sessions that we had or it's not written anywhere in your company handbook /contract When I was interviewed by a builder and they asked to go on with Them full-time they said OHN fee to bring in employee on board is as much as $15,000 k then it's a one year waiting period you cant even go on with the builder that came straight from two of the builders mouths when I confronted Ohn/ they said that wasn't true ! My whole goal was to go on with the builder I said that in my interview and they were fine with that ! As that will give me time to learn the builders culture and gain experience And as a Christian company as well I was very misled . Suggest before you go on board with them ask to see the builders contract so you know what you're getting into .

Open House Network Response

Yes, the Model Home Host position is a great fit for someone looking for flexible, part time work. This is how we advertise this position for prospective candidates. OHN is thrilled when our hosts are chosen by our builder clients for a permanent position. This is a contractual agreement we have with our clients and is a welcome transition. Many of our hosts have hired on with our clients and we now staff their needs with our hosts. As with every staffing agency, there is a small placement fee. If the builder client decides not to pay a placement fee, there is a 6 mth wait to onboard the host after they have left OHN. This is standard industry practice. It is unfortunate that you did not come to OHN management for this information and were misled by an unreliable source. We wish you great success in the industry. OHN will continue striving for excellence in both our hiring and training practices to provide a service that is second to none.
