Pros

The Training team is great. That's where it ends

Cons

Lied to me several times about a particular project and what was going to be expected of me. I made it perfectly clear as to what I wanted and what I did not want. They assured me I would not be put into that position, but in two weeks, I was told that I would be in that position. It was like talking to a wall. Then they decided, after I stepped away from the project for very good reason, not to even pay the invoices I submitted. Thieves and liars. Do not work here!

Pros

The people that work for OpenSymmetry are generally a nice group of guys. If you are a graduate it is a very good company to learn the consultancy trade and pick up some technologies that will be very useful (SQL, XML, etc).

Cons

If you are a hard working and committed consultant who is willing to do "whatever it takes" to get the job done, then that will be appreciated......and used for all it is worth with very little appreciation shown financially. The business OS works in is enabling sales people to be motivated by money and reward. Unfortunately they don't take on this philosophy internally and consultants end up paying for a top heavy, well paid management structure. If you like watching internal sales people get rewarded for selling solutions that will give the client "more bangs for their buck" while you are expected to provide the "bangs" by working 16 hour days and weekends....then this is the place to work.

Pros

Work remote, good office space

Cons

Lack of preparation or training. Given complex projects without foundation of knowledge to draw from. Definite instant feedback if you do not do well, even if they provide the tools to succeed and that will instantly sink you. Lies at interview about how company is doing and the realities of the role. Note: if you read about the great benefits and unlimited PTO in other reviews, I just found out they have cut the PTO and reduced benefits, costing employees a lot more.
