Pros

* Work/life balance * Hybrid work (for the moment)

Cons

* Most of the managers are inexperienced and are afraid to say no to ridiculous requests from management and other teams. * The tech leads choose what technologies you will have to use based on their personal preferences disregarding what are the needs of every project. In many cases their choices make no sense for the project you are working on. * It feels like they have no idea what they want to do. Most products don't have customers or significant revenue. Almost all of the product owners left the company last summer. * There is a problem with cliques and favoritism.

Pros

Pay and benefits are competitive. Company is well positioned in an exciting market to capitalize on while it the window of opportunity is open.

Cons

Highly political and toxic from the top down. Lack of vision and organization from leadership, especially from the CEO who seems to only care about cashing himself out and apparently was busy selling his own shares to investors to build himself another bigger house during layoffs, pay freezes, and cancellations of bonuses, then awkwardly showed up 15 minutes late to an office-wide meeting to announce layoffs. The company has failed to pay planned bonuses to most employees for three consecutive years and keeps talking about new products that seem to never become commercialized. Top level leadership of product and tech is disorganized and lacks the vision and technical competence to deliver revenue growth.

Pros

* Relaxed environmnent * Ok people * Private health insurance

Cons

The company tried to scale up extremely fast during the pandemic, overhiring as a way to prove they were doing ok, but as it became apparent a couple of years later that was the beginning of the company's internal degradation, as they could not support that level of expansion, in many ways, (2024 was the year when we had the first major mass lay offs btw) The company culture disappeared, due to an overwhelming influx of new people in combination with HR and internal politics, the management could not handle so many people, leading to them being dishonest and miscommunicating all the time; that became the norm. The company goals were never communicated in honesty, only mentioned when the time came for the annual bonuses, in order to let us know we did not reach the (mystery) goal, even though the rest of the year we were reassuered we were doing fine. No accountability is ever taken for mishaps and people get congratulated for doing the most basic things of their job description. Salaries are very mid, and you will find it really difficult to get a raise. Promotions seem to be given at random. There are lots of internal politics and "alliances" with many top level managers working together in other jobs as well, making them "twice" the co-workers. Btw, top management are all contractors, reaping the financial benefits of such a deal, but no employees are allowed to work as contractors. Good people are getting obviously gaslit, by being promised stuff, like raises or promotions, that never get delivered, in order to leave the company voluntarily, as it seems new, maleable, hires are prefered over older, more opinionated, employees. The fact that the only "old" employees left are the top level managers of the engineering dpt (a couple of directors, evps, ctos, etc) and everyone else has left the company says something. The company has become a ship of Theseus, with only a couple of original pieces left. Worst part is this has become a company where you have no-one, in an official position (HR included), to share your grievances, because all the people in these positions are always covering each other.
