Thanks for your comments. Your advice to our leaders is very accurate, and something that the business is working on right now. As we mature as a business the way we have done things through our rapid growth are not always sustainable long term. We know that and are making changes accordingly.

Pros

Lots of great snacks and beers/wines kept in the kitchens. Macbook Pro and iPhone issued to each employee (if you like Apple products). Trying really, really, hard to use awesome modern technology.

Cons

Macbook Pro and iPhone issued to each employee (if you hate Apple products). Company can't decide what direction it wants to go in (hence the title). Management is divided off into a tribal mentality, with each group going their own way and doing their own thing without regard for or communication with other departments. And that's the best of the worst. Fact is, most management doesn't know what direction to go in and so just stagnates...with things needing done and processes needing fixed. It is often left to the employees themselves to figure out resolutions to large business issues that management should be tackling. Most managers at Orion would be perfectly fine managing a Best Buy or something similar, but since they either have no technical background, or flat out refuse to learn about the Orion product platform, again, it's left to the employees to tackle technical issues across departments. So I guess in summary, at BEST management is INEPT/INCOMPETENT, and at WORST they are completely NEGLIGENT/DERELICT in their duties. Training/onboarding for employees is a joke. When I was onboarded we did a week of basic intro into just about every aspect of the company, with only 1 day devoted to the product I was to be supporting. after that week I asked my manager for more training to be a better, more competent employee and was told numerous times there is no official training other than the online academy (which is a joke and seems more geared toward a grade school level of understanding). This leads to many support employees not having the technical skills to do their job and those that do have to work that much harder while others coast by without any repercussions. Promises to clients are way overblown, with impossible to meet deadlines. This causes a lot of unneeded stress and frustration across the board which results in finger pointing and blaming other teams for work not getting done on time. The fact is, the time frame for the projects is too short to be completed satisfactorily and was set up for failure from the beginning. Due to the poor culture at the company, this is never addressed, blame is just assigned to which team was left holding the bag in an unending game of "hot potato". This style created a lot a animosity between teams that should have been working together. Orion is very concerned about their Glassdoor image and actively ask employees to write glowing reviews of the company. Several prospective clients have turned down contracts due to poor reviews. The problems with this company are systemic and deeply cultural, if you're reading this please take with a grain of salt all of the positive reviews of this company.

We originally posted a short response to this review, but on reflection we thought it would be more helpful to provide a more detailed response addressing some of the points raised in this review. Please excuse the use of bullet points! • Apple products – we equip our people with what we consider to be the best and most appropriate tools that we can. It really depends on the role as to what technology is used, but we would also recommend that our employees have a chat to their leader if they are finding they need to change. • Tribal mentality – in the R&D team everyone is split into “tribes”; we’ve found it really helps with creating a sense of purpose amongst teams. All tribes are part of a Line of Business, the leaders of which are responsible for directing the overall strategy. We’ve had a lot of feedback from employees about wanting better communication around strategy and we’ve been working hard on improving the flow of information, including responding to employee feedback. • We are very proud of our leaders, both their talent and capability and we absolutely back them to make the right decisions. We are disappointed that you didn’t feel you could share your concerns when you were here. We would urge all our team to raise concerns with either their direct leader or someone from the People team. • Training and Onboarding - we have been working hard to make significant progress in improving our on-boarding program for new hires. We’ve created a PDP (Professional Development Plan) program to actively address individual career development goals, and we are providing growth opportunities, not only through internal promotions but also in assigning people with challenging assignments outside of their normal work scope. • Customer focus – delighting customers is really important at Orion Health and learning to listen and act on their concerns is key to our success. Again, this is where having open conversations with your leader and your team is really important so that together we can help our customers. • Our Glassdoor image – we do not ask anyone to post a review on Glassdoor, or any website – that they didn’t genuinely believe to be true. I hope that this response helps clarify the issues raised in this review. As previously noted, we are working hard to address any concerns raised by the talented team we have at Orion Health.

Hi firing rate!

Pros

One star for benefits (100% covered medical insurance, paid parking in city, etc) Second star for providing cool work tools (OH is an Apple shop)

Cons

1. Definitely the NZ influence -- they are the boss. 2. High churn rate, even before an employee thinks to look elsewhere he/she is more likely to be fired for no reason. Ask US Leadership or search for ex Orion Employees --I would say 90% were involuntarily terminated. The includes VPs, CISO, Directors, Infosec Managers/Leaders, Lawyers, Project Managers, you name it. 3. Blatant mis-handling of sensitive customer data (Can OCR please audit OH)
