Employees good but the president has dementia

Pros

One good thing is that most of the employees are rather quiet but quite friendly.

Cons

Teamwork is discouraged here. The CEO will not allow sufficient time for any real hands-on training or collaboration with other technicians. Most of the employees are quiet, because the CEO leads by inflicting them all with fear. No one is allowed to speak up and make suggestions on improvements from a technical or administrative perspective. It’s pretty much a dictatorship. I guess this would be okay if you were gaining valuable work experience, but the problem is, the guy’s knowledge of both business and technical aspects of running a company are rather dated. I mean, he was probably good at diagnosing computer problems in the 1980s, but things have changed since then, and he seems to be angry that he has not kept up; consequently, he takes out his frustrations with his own ignorance on his own employees. It is really rather remarkable to be in a professional environment, trying to solve problems, and then have the CEO come in and re-direct everyone so they are running in circles and not actually getting work done. If you are going for a sales, marketing, or admin position, be very wary of the “president” who works upstairs. If he suddenly decides you’re not being productive enough (as if he knew what that meant) then your tenure with this firm is over. Simply save yourself the grief and work for another company that actually respects its employees and has a healthy work environment.

We welcome recommendation for improvements and are willing to look at options on improving our processes. The processes have evolved to using the Microsoft Cloud and collaboration is encouraged.. People share their views and are expected to work independently.. Working independent is not right for everyone and takes discipline and research . Our goal is for each and every employee to push each other to get better and grow professionally

Pros

The technicians are nice people. It's located in downtown Oakland

Cons

Do not work here. The President is stuck in 1987 with his business practices. He is a tyrant when he is in a bad mood and takes it out on his employees. One day he can be nice, the next day a total monster. He instill fears in his employees. The office is ugly and outdated so you don't feel like you are working in a nice office which creates a lull attitude. If you are working or are late for any meetings, you can count your days there. Not sure what planet this place is operating on but you can tell all the employees are unhappy. It is pretty miserable. Their systems are inefficient and you spend a lot of time doing things that could 1/2 the time but if you make suggestions, you will get shot down. Just do not work here. The pay is low and what they advertise in the job vs. what you get when you are hired are two different things. It seems a little shady.

We appreciate the feedback. we do operate a business supporting our clients from 8 to 5 and are expected to be available when clients call ( Part of our SLA). We encourage feedback and advice on ways to improve our processes. Our client do expect results and since our focus is on supporting everything IT we need to be professional in our approach, leave no client hanging and stay on top of new technology.. Not everyone is cut out for being held accountable and being pushed to continue to improve. Our goal for the past 36 years is to provide service direct to the user. We all must look in the mirror and try to be honest with ourselves . Sorry it did not work out with this employee . We will take the feedback and try to improve

Shocked by disgruntled employee review

Pros

Amazing work environment with great teamwork and space for creative thinking and collaboration. Empowerment and enablement are two key strategies to motivate all levels of employment from entry to management levels. Investment in innovative technology is proven through partnership levels and resource availability. 34 years of strong business relationships proves PC Professional is invested and devoted to delivering trusted technology solutions. Technology acquisition is an ongoing investment from: Azure infrastructure adoption, on premise systems running latest technology, latest Microsoft solutions to leading edge hardware on every desk in the office. Average employee has been with PC Professional for over 10 years. This shows the investment and care that PC Professional makes from a HR perspective. This corporation, again CORPORATION, is not family owned as the disgruntled ex-employee below states in another review. In all fairness, as an employee of this organization for over 10 years, the weight of my words and review should hold much more value than another's whose employment lasted all much a few business hours.

Cons

17th BART..convenient but not the best. Public transportation, what can you say?!
