I got fired and don’t even know why. I am a 20 year veteran in the cable industry and decided to go away from that profession to a job with less impact on my body. I was hired to do work as an agent in Florida when originally hired. I took the time to get my non resident license for Florida and was set to start working for Rainbow Insurance at the time. I was called to see if I would be ready to start a week earlier and needed to get to working so I said yes. The first day on the job the people at policy pro were there although at the time I didn’t know they worked for a different agency. I told them on the first day that I was told to get my Florida non resident license. They insisted that I get my Texas license. I worked for rainbow training about a week before I was told along with some other agents that we no longer were employees of Rainbow insurance and that we are now with PolicyPro. They changed everything up. I did go along with the change at first but the further I got into the employment the more I realized they don’t care about anyone and only care about the bottom line. They set goals that only a couple people a day were able to achieve. I was only really able to sell two companies out of the supposed to be 40 carriers. I was limited to selling auto as well. Some of the other agents that were there for longer periods of time were able to get two or three policies per call where I was limited to one policy per call because I was only taught to do auto. I was always on time for work, I sat in a chair for 8 hours straight very rarely ever taking a break and, I always took the last lunch hour. I was let go of after I came back from lunch. There was no rhyme or reason why I was let go of. I know I was not selling as much as other agents but I also wasn’t taught to sell as many items as others. I also didn’t have much mentoring. One week was it and all I got was one product from two providers to sell. I was expected to give 8 Quotes per day with 4 policies sold but there were days where I didn’t even receive 8 calls. Anyway, there was no coming to help me get better. They just said what to focus on every morning during the meeting and I never saw or heard anyone coming to guide and teach me what to say when questions came about. I know there were things that happened beyond my control a couple times with my internet going down because of massive storms, and my pc stopped working all together once and I went and bought a new pc that same day so I wouldn’t miss any work. They wouldn’t even give me the time after I ran and got the new pc so that I could just log in and work the following day. They just said to get ahold of a person in the morning and they were so bad, slow, and unwilling to guide me that I lost a second day. It was so bad I didn’t even get everything loaded on my new pc the second day and they wanted me to take calls without some of the tools I would need to take calls. I thought I was in a good place when I got fired though. I had good conversations with some really nice people and I was starting to make more sales. Problem was they had a couple bad days and I was the lowest on the totem pole. I wasn’t a professional at this but was treated as one and I had less experience than anyone there. I just needed more guidance than a week and a half before taking calls. I would have liked to move around to some of the more successful agents to see how and what they are saying or doing as well. I never heard a seasoned agent take a call so, I had to make my calls my own. I guess that wasn’t good enough. If you are looking for a place that cares about your success don’t apply here.
