Great colleagues but high turnover, burnout and management issues
Pros
There are some really great people at the company who were a joy to work with. Things are fast paced and moving so it doesn’t get boring. The company culture isn’t bad, they are clearly trying, but half the people at the company don’t seem to want to participate unless they are being forced, so it never felt good and never really meshed across all teams. The new HR person tried too, but they let her go, so it probably won’t get better anytime soon. Benefits aren’t bad either but they could be improved upon.
Cons
There is a lot more turnover at the company than they like to let on. Over a couple months earlier this year I saw 6 people leave, most who had only been there less than a year or weren’t even there 3 months and a few people fired or let go within 3 months. Before that the turnover was a little slower but still people left often or were pushed out. They aren’t good with performance management and would rather get rid of people and cost the company more money than work with the people on their team, understand the issue and make it better or at least have a performance conversation. It felt like half the company was teetering on burnout or full on in it. I often heard people talk bad about other people who weren’t on a call, even management to other people who weren’t HR, which really cheapened the culture and experience. Things like that made you wonder if colleagues or your manager were talking about you when you weren’t around. Salary inconsistencies across employees and new hires was also an issue but I know they were working on that so hopefully that gets better. They do a great job of selling you the company and environment in the interview process, but it’s not really real and you learn that pretty quickly.
