Pros

1. Unlimited supply of hot water or coffee so you won’t get thirsty. 2. Charity snack box in the office which is more expensive than the supermarket. 3. Randomly you will get some milk in the fridge, and fruit for around 7-10 people 4. End of month drinks for every month or two. 5. Very quiet office, people usually don’t talk with each other so you can focus on your own work. 6. High turnover rate so you will be expected to meet new colleges every month.

Cons

1. Salary freeze, underpaid heavily when compared with the industry average. 2. Not paying super, some people in the company only received super for 1 quarter or less after 1 year’s work. 3. Management is a disaster, poor leadership. They disrespect their employees. They don't acknowledge their employees' hard work or achievements. 4. Bullying culture, some crazy managers are used to yelling at people, very intense. 5. Unrealistic workload and deadlines so you need to work overtime for free. 6. Micromanagement on everything. 7. No support or help when you actually need them.

Decent Product - Toxic Culture

Pros

- Some of the people working there - A chance to learn quite fast a wide range of technologies - Good for maybe a year or two of experience - Developers get to work on some decent tech stacks

Cons

- Bad management - Bullying culture - Too much micromanagement - No/late/wrong super payments (Company has been reported to the ATO by several employees) - No real recognition for good work - No urgency to resolve issues unless they affect the bottom line - Management for the majority of the time would be reactive to issues rather than proactive - Most people in the company are just seen as resources rather than people by management (this very likely applies to several companies) - Blatant favoritism towards certain individuals (e.g one employee can suggest a change but that will be ignored until a favorite either suggests it or pushes for it) - Management doesn't really have any real power as the CEO has way too much input into all decisions When a review was posted on glassdoor while I was still working there the CEO himself went on the hunt to find the individual who wrote the review rather than addressing the issues. This just proves the reviews point about bullying. The review resulted to an employee being made redundant (company will not admit to this, but several employees current and former can attest to this)

Pros

Flexible hours Central location Colleagues are nice

Cons

The cons i'm about to name as from a developer POV. As a BA or working in QA, the company is pretty decent. Development management has 0 technical background. This results in completely unrealistic expectations and deadlines. You cannot manage problems you don't even remotely understand. Speed and numbers are the only things that matter to development management, which encourages quick hacky solutions. Speaking up about any of this is looked down upon by development management. They claim to have an open culture where you can speak up, but when you speak up about a problem, you're viewed as a troublemaker instead. No gratitude is being shown, regardless of your effort. Didn't hear a single thank you, in over a year of working there. Some people haven't had super for over 8 months. Pay tends to be very irregular. Devs are underpaid in comparison to industry standards. Very high turn-over, because management doesn't know how to work with new developers, having unrealistic expectations and in turn getting quickly frustrated with them. Management thinks it's the product. It's not, it's management.
