Pros

New building, Spacious free tea and coffee.

Cons

Terrible management, people are spoken down to. 2 weeks training was a waste of time doesnt help on floor. You are left alone on very first day and ignored and avoided. The people who seem welcoming and positive when you start are the one's who do not want to know once you start. I left the job after 3 weeks as the pressure and attitude of management was shocking!

We are disappointed that your experience with the Rank Group was not what it could have been, we take pride in trying to create an environment where everyone matters. We invest a great deal of time and energy into building great experiences for every colleague that we employ, and I am disappointed that you feel your own experience fell short of that. We have invested in management training and development to give our managers the tools to act with integrity and professionalism and we trust they do all they can to meet this expectation. We do encourage all colleagues to raise any issues as they happen to allow us all to work on improving work life at Rank. To this end please feel free to contact (in confidence) lana.hooper@rank.com who works in HR to discuss further any concerns you may have.

Pros

Once upon time there were good people there..

Cons

Middle and senior management that have no idea what they're doing. Restructure after restructure, often as excuses for those in charge to feed their own personal agendas, hide incompetence and stop themselves from being shown up by those who are qualified, experienced and morally sound. The working culture is unpleasant, hostile and haphazard (as a result of continual restructures and redundancies), the latter illustrating the lack of integrity within the HR team who work on the side of the business, rather than adhere to employment law.

Doesn't matter what you do it's what you say that matters...

Pros

Some good people with genuinely good ideas who care about the company and industry as a whole. Some opportunity for progression.

Cons

Far too many people in senior management positions who are only interested in protecting their own positions and killing the industry as a result. Brown nose the right people and you will go far, speak your mind and you will end up in trouble. Success is irrelevant if you don't befriend the right people...

Thank you for taking the time to provide a review and I find it really disappointing to read. I am passionate about ‘speaking up’ at Rank and everyone’s views should be respected and listened to. I would be really interested to talk to you further about your experiences (sarah.powell@rank.com) and take responsibility for taking this further internally.
