Great Culture, No product focus, Sales company

Pros

1. Its true that the company truly has amazing people and everyone is open and approachable which makes it a great culture. They have hired some of the nicest people and the company is bringing internal employee changes. 2. Transparency from top exec down to everyone and the company answers to majority of the questions that are business related. 3. Extra leave every quarter which is great so that you can relax and enjoy that paid day off with your kids and family. 4. Started paying more attention to goals individuals want to achieve every quarter but still a lot of room for improvement.

Cons

1. No this is not a product/tech company and don't even believe it even if they say they are product focused because no-one has any idea on where to take the product. The work that you'll do is what client says is what team does because the management only wants to look at the smaller picture. They don't have capacity to take on any product initiatives due to resource constraints and it's ridiculous that the management will try to impress everyone by talking about big things that are in plan but there is no way it's feasible due to resources. 2. There are great engineers locally but the overseas engineering team doesn't know the product and most of them need everything written down for them (really?). 3. Sales focused company which means the only thing that matters is who brings the client, how big the client and stretch the product to their needs without any consideration for dependencies and when that breaks anything else, we go in circles. There are things that were built and not even completed! 4. Average pay and at the annual review, you'll get your revised salary which you have to accept and is not talked about in the review even though the management has been asking everyone to keep this open. Their budget goes towards acquisitions and not employee development. 5. You'll do your role and 3 others because they can't fill the roles which on its own says enough. 6. Old school methodology which means its difficult to make any changes so if you want to start your career you can but trust me it's better to be in a more technology/product focus companies.

Hey ReadyTecher, These are some great “pros” that you have mentioned, and they resonate with what I have heard since I joined over the last six months. It’s great to have them shared in forums like this and also our internal surveys. Cheers! Thank you also for the constructive feedback and for being so specific with it. As I’m sure you are aware, ReadyTech supports a range of people-centric software products and prefer product-led growth. And as we have products at different stages of the lifecycle, we may be super product-focused or in major onboarding mode for a large new enterprise customers or markets. Your feedback helps us to communicate this product context more clearly and address concerns in our Town Halls. If you would like to provide some further confidential feedback and feel comfortable contacting me directly, don’t hesitate to reach out at jess.griffin@readytech.io.

Pros

. Met some great people . Merchandise when it's given out . Working remotely (but Management is calling all employees back into the office) . Leave benefits - 4 extra days and birthday leave with conditions

Cons

. Severe micromanagement - every movement is recorded - customer calls are always recorded, breaks are counted down to the second, with meetings you're expected to be on camera. . They have a management team who don't have experience in payroll, operational support or the software. . Extremely high turn over where knowledge and experience of others are lost. . Work load can be stressful as there's not enough staff. Can be political or toxic. Everyone is overworked! What's even more frustrating is they've known this for over 2 years and they haven't filled back all the roles and more employees are leaving! . Segregated departments where everyone is looking out for themselves. Unfortunately, other departments are also overloaded, struggling to keep up. . It's demoralising as it appears no one wants to be there. Everyday there is always someone counting down the minute until end of day or the weekend. I wouldn't blame the person left wanting to strangle the other team member who takes a leave day or two because they are left with the burden of a heavy workload! To top it off, the pay is average and their leave entitlements can only be taken outside their blackout period (Jan, Jul, Dec). Mind you, not for all but only employees in certain departments such as dealing with Payroll.

This includes ensuring ReadyTechers have clarity on the direction and their contribution to it, how we reward people and our communication.
