Pros

met some great people but all of them are gone now

Cons

- underpaying - toxic environment - CEO should not be allowed to be in the executive role ever (super unprofessional, fake and lacks common sense and humanity) - no job security - Lidia (COO now) is the person who was supposed to be HR/head of people is actually a secretary to the CEO so she gathers info about everyone and everything and goes back to him with reports so you actually have no one to talk to about any issues without fear of that info being leaked - she's the COO now with zero qualifications so this tells you all you need to know - company is growing too slow, in my time there there were not some huge milestones hit even though the CEO is always telling stories about how the company is growing like crazy (if it really was they'd be hitting 5+M by now) - people are getting fired for no reason (especially CS team and sales which is basically non existent now). most of time they do it just to save the money - no systems, proven track records and enablement for people to thrive (how could they in environment like this)

Overall bad and emotionally draining experience

Pros

- The compensation package was fair and one of the few strong points during my time at Videowise. It aligned well with market standards and the expected workload, which is not always the case in similar startups. - Colleagues are always eager to help, they are all very nice and amicable - International exposure: you get to talk with clients, partners and colleagues from all over the world - this is an interesting experience in itself.

Cons

If you're considering accepting a role at Videowise, I strongly suggest you speak to those who have left the company. This will give you a more complete and honest picture of what working there is really like, as my experience was far from ideal. Toxic company culture: - The work environment was emotionally draining, characterized by negativity, cliques, and a lack of psychological safety. Trust was consistently undermined, making true collaboration difficult. Not to mention that every other month someone is being fired and more often than not, the team is not even informed about this. Unpredictable and inconsistent leadership: - The CEO’s behavior was erratic and emotionally volatile, with frequent changes in strategic direction. This constant shift in focus created confusion across departments and made it difficult to maintain any long-term plans or stability. Unclear expectations: - Expectations for my role and responsibilities were vague from the outset. There was no clear framework for what success looked like, how performance would be evaluated (are there even any performance reviews?), or who was responsible for key tasks, leading to constant confusion. Lack of structure and internal support: - The company lacked basic organizational structure. There was no clear documentation because the turnover is SO HIGH you have to pick up the chaos that's left from predecessors, and no support system is offered for that. Gossip and unprofessional behavior in upper management: - Instead of fostering a healthy work environment, the CEO contributed to a culture of fear (jokes about how fast Videowise fires people) and passive-aggressive communication. Extremely high turnover: - The turnover rate was shockingly high. It is unusual for any company to experience such frequent turnover in such core roles, which points to deeper systemic issues within the organization.

Toxic, Deceptive, and Exploitative Work Environment

Pros

No pros at the moment.

Cons

Leadership: The CEO and the entire executive team engage in manipulative behavior, making promises they don’t keep. Their lack of transparency creates a toxic environment where trust is impossible. They openly lie to employees, clients, and partners, prioritizing self-interest over integrity. • Toxic Work Culture: Gossip, backstabbing, and unprofessional behavior are normalized. Leadership frequently spreads rumors and talks about employees behind their backs, fostering mistrust and division. Instead of supporting employees, they engage in blame-shifting and manipulation, creating a hostile work environment. • Untrustworthy Environment: Misleading statements and constantly shifting narratives make it difficult to know where you stand. Feedback is often weaponized, and accountability is avoided at all levels. Promises of career advancement, pay raises, and bonuses are rarely delivered on, leaving employees feeling undervalued and deceived. • Exploitation and No Benefits: The company expects employees to work full-time but only offers contractor agreements, leaving workers without essential benefits like health insurance or job security. Sick leave is limited, despite full-time expectations, showing a complete disregard for employee well-being. • No Career Growth: The leadership team prioritizes control over development, leaving employees with no opportunities for professional growth or recognition. There’s no investment in training, mentorship, or career progression.

We’re disappointed to see such a harsh and misrepresentative review, and while we believe everyone has a right to share their experience, this review does not reflect the reality of life at Videowise. We are a fast-growing, ambitious company where transparency, ownership, and collaboration are at the core of how we operate. Our leadership team is deeply involved and accessible, and we’ve built a culture where feedback - both giving and receiving - is part of our daily rhythm. Many of our team members have grown significantly in their roles, stepped into leadership positions, and contributed directly to shaping the company. The claims about manipulation, dishonesty, and lack of support are simply untrue. We don’t pretend to be perfect, but we are far from toxic. We invest time and effort into building a healthy environment: from regular retrospectives and 1:1s, to async documentation, open planning, and celebrating wins together. People who thrive at Videowise are proactive, kind, driven, and team-oriented - and they stay, grow, and contribute meaningfully. We understand startups are not for everyone. The pace is fast, expectations are high, and autonomy is real - but so are the opportunities. If you’re looking for a place where you’re trusted, challenged, and supported to grow, Videowise is exactly that. To those reading: we invite you to look beyond one frustrated voice. Speak to our team, ask questions, and get to know us directly.
