Demanding business with culture suiting senior managers

Pros

- Work from anywhere - This agency is a good proving ground to manage clients and keep up with the intensity. Having worked in multinationals, good new starters develop much faster in an environment like this. - There are many examples of meritocratic progression at Rostrum. - If you need help or want to raise something, HR is approachable.

Cons

- Vertical structure perpetuates this feeling of much greater distance to the top than actually is, and not all managers would want to change this... - Staff turnover was over 50% in my year-long spell. - Sometimes if a client isn't satisfied, accounts are seized on by management, and heavily involved junior team members cannot support. - Leadership doesn't project a shared mission or goal, leaving individual progression to be the focus for most people, which creates awkwardness.

Pros

Great culture - leadership genuinely cares about your wellbeing, how you're getting on in your role and give you great opportunities to succeed/thrive. Rostrum put a lot of care and attention into providing great benefits - ranging from health to social. Rostrum is a great place to work if you have an interest in developing your career in PR/communications.

Cons

Extremely busy agency with a lot of new business, and therefore workloads can really pile up.

Pros

-the location of the office is good

Cons

-tons of account leads who do nothing and overworked and understaffed execs who do 99% of the work for incredibly measly pay and ungodly hours -incredibly toxic laddy culture - inappropriate and problematic jokes made by senior leadership casually at desks with zero space to feel like you can say anything -people getting fired left right and centre, no job security at all and people made to work their notice after getting let go which says everything you need to know about the company -HR does their best and has good intentions, but the top down culture is toxic
