Pros

Your team will be your lifeline and most of the people that work there are really cool.

Cons

I'm honestly not sure where to begin when discussing the cons of working in this place. I’ll start at the top.. and by the top I mean the CEO (Leo Russell, not Tim Tobin). Besides the fact that he's a generally terrible human being, he is also a horrible leader. He does not give his employees the tools they need to do their jobs or any type of autonomy to make business decisions. He believes that offering free snacks and Friday happy hours are the way to build a company culture and does not realize that culture is actually based on how people are treated and valued in the work place. He uses bonuses as a threat to scare his employees and quite honestly does not compensate people properly (which is ironic because it’s staffing firm and he knows what the market rates are because he relies on them to make money). On the other hand he over compensates people that do not deserve it.. such as family friends, family, close connections, etc. He will literally tell people to “sit down and shuttup,” only because they are new. And to get into the crazy comments he makes about gender, sex, weight, etc would take too long to properly outline here, but you can imagine. On top of all of this he creates a disruptive work environment by constantly moving where people are sitting. Which is made ever more difficult considering there is no network or server so one is unable to simply move to a new computer and work, rather they need their entire desktop computer physically relocated in order to make such a move. In addition, he changes peoples positions at a whim. One day you are head of events and the next you are head of talent engagement. No warning. No discussion. No compensation changes (unless you’re a buddy of his). He treats people as if they are incompetent and know nothing. He creates a culture of fear. The computers are old and insubstantial, however there are countless works of art and uncomfortable furniture that costs A LOT of money all over the office. In order to get even so much as a pen purchased for you, he needs to sign a PO for it to get done. So you can understand where priorities lie in terms of where money is being spent. There is no board of directors, no Human Resources, NO LEGAL TEAM, NO IT TEAM. There is NO ONE who can advocate for the employees there. This is a place where there is new drama every day, people crying every day, people quitting every day, and people getting fired every day. It is an anxiety inducing environment that I highly recommend you do not join. These comments are not exclusive to Russell Tobin.. but the ENTIRE Pride family of companies, Pride Global, Pride Technologies/Pride One, Pride Healthcare, etc. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE SHINY PAINTINGS AND THE BEAUTIFUL DECOR. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE CEO’s CHARMING SPEECHES. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE HAPPY HOURS AND THE SNACKS AND THE NESPRESSO MACHINE. This place will eat you alive and swallow you whole if you let it.

Pros

Meet some great colleagues that you share a common bond with for both surviving the madness of the company. Traumatic experiences tend to form a special bond and you can laugh together later for having worked at such a joke of an organization. There are enough of us survivors to form a monthly meetup for cocktails.

Cons

The CEO, Leo Russell, rules with fear. He uses scare tactics, verbal abuse, and manipulation to keep everything in his control. I was personally belittled and bullied by the CEO on several occasions. The "Leadership" team is an absolute farce. They are terrified to speak up or voice their opinions about the unethical behavior of their CEO. There is no infrastructure at all. The company is a house of cards that could tip over with one quick movement. The company runs as if it was still 1986. The heads of the departments know very little about their field and training is non existent. There is no operations team after the entire team walked out because of the treatment of the CEO. Just in the past four months, 6 women have left the company that reported directly to the CEO, seems to be a common trend. (These are just the people that I know of.) The fact that there is no HR department should be major red flag. The CEO and "leadership" team constantly talk about how much integrity they have. If you have to verbalize something so often, you're clearly trying to overcompensate. There is absolutely no integrity at Russell Tobin or any of the Pride Global companies. The CEO brings his dog to work and lets him go the bathroom all over the office without being bothered to clean it up himself. What an ironic living metaphor. He relies on others to do that, just as he relies on others to let him get away with his inappropriate behavior. Where's the integrity in that? Most of the negative reviews have been removed after being flagged by the in house counsel and talent engagement team. Make sure to read what couldn't be removed, I personally experienced the truth in every negative review, they just happen to be buried by false positive reviews.

Pros

Zero besides meeting some great employees who are very talented and great friends! That’s the only pro!

Cons

Working at Russell Tobin was an absolute nightmare. Every day was different and things were never consistent. You would never know what processes would end up getting changed or messed up today. Or what leader would talk crap about what employee today. Or who would be let go today for absolutely no reason at all. Or even even what kind of threat will I receive today. You will never receive a raise, let alone a review. The bonus structure is a literal joke, and the goals they put in place are completely unrealistic! This company has zero structure and is an utter joke! Everyday something new would happen. It was like being on a constant roller coaster ride. Clients would get little to no respect from upper management at times, and invoices would consistently be messed up. Employees paychecks would be incorrect often as well. Another major concern and red flag is that there was was no HR department/manager to go to for ANYTHING! There was also zero consistency with any managers or processes. Things also would change daily let alone hourly or even by the minute. As already previously mentioned the GP goals are a topic that this company only focuses as that is all that they care about. However they do not set recruiters up to succeed here they set them up to fail and use that as an excuse to not pay out a bonuses. They also state they they pay higher base salaries here but they really don’t and based on what your base salary is will throw that in your face from time to time too. This place is beyond unprofessional! They disclose information to other team members about certain employees that is confidential and without their consent and or permission. They did not track PTO correctly for the longest time and I don’t even think they still do now! It’s a hot mess! They also had pet favorites as well. They also promote employees and do not give them raises with that said promotion. That in itself is a joke! They never took any issues to light seriously. If you brought any issues to hand you were told that you were being negative and would go on the naughty list basically. They expect you to be positive 24/7. If you have one bad quarter from a GP perspective it may or may not be okay but god forbid if you have two bad quarters you will be booted out the door or go on a PIP plan for a week or less and than just get booted out right after anyways. The Directors will throw others under the bus and get away with it without hearing the other side of story! The micromanaging was insane! This company had ZERO trust for anything ne and I mean ZERO trust! They may have trusted some to be an account manager yet they would make you include them on everything you do. Than why even make that individual an account manager in the first place! The Monday morning call is a joke the leadership team who runs the meeting well one individual who also runs this company loves to talk about stuff that is not even work related and is so inappropriate. It is also completely out of line, beyond disturbing, disgusting, and just down right disrespectful! The sexual harassment was also off the charts as well. And to also add to this if you ever want to part ways with this company I also highly recommend to not waste your time trying to be courteous or professional either by giving a notice as they will throw you out the door right away by giving you zero courtesy or respect. Please also keep in mind that the environment is also pretty intense. I say this in the some for example- The Friday team calls that would take place. They were another complete and utter joke they would want to have a question of the day every single time such as: “Your favorite Super Hero or Kitchen Gadget” and waste others time in the day on silly things that may not be fun for some and others but not fine productive. Not to mention the board games that they would play with one another and against each-other and the let’s popcorn this mentality. It was a childish environment and a very toxic one at that! This place is beyond criminal, and it should not be in business! The way the contractor employees are treated is also horrible! I would never recommend any contractors/candidates, customers/clients, friends, family’s, or anyone to this company and that’s a fact! If I could I would not give this company any starts for a review as it deserves nothing because it is worth nothing! Stay far away.. run as fast as you can because if you don’t you will regret it!
