Pros

Dedicated and resilient individuals: Despite the challenging work environment, I encountered many hardworking and dedicated colleagues at the company. There were individuals who consistently put in their best effort, going above and beyond their responsibilities. It was inspiring to witness their commitment and work ethic, even if their efforts often went underappreciated.

Cons

Are you tired of having a work-life balance? At Ryff, we believe that work-life balance is overrated, and we'll make sure you never have to worry about it again! Embrace the toxic culture: Step into a time warp and experience the nostalgia of 80s-style management at Ryff. Get ready for an adventure where outdated leadership techniques reign supreme. From patronising attitudes to excessive micromanagement, our senior management will transport you back to the golden era of leg warmers and questionable fashion choices. Discrimination galore: Be prepared to witness some jaw-dropping displays of sexism and racism from our esteemed c-suite members. They truly know how to create a vibrant and inclusive work environment (insert sarcasm here). Incompetence unleashed: At Ryff, we embrace the "Peter Principle”. Witness the fascinating phenomenon of individuals rising to their own level of incompetence. Our leadership team exemplifies this concept as they navigate their roles with remarkable ineptitude. Sit back, relax and marvel at the artistry of mediocrity as you question the very fabric of organisational expertise. Lack of support, a blessing in disguise: Forget about receiving any support or guidance from our senior management. We'll let you figure out everything on your own. Feel the rush of constantly questioning your competence as you navigate your responsibilities without proper feedback or assistance. Who needs support, anyway? Lonely and isolated: Experience the joy of minimal communication with your manager. Meaningful one-to-one meetings? Who needs those? Enjoy the bliss of feeling isolated and disconnected from your team and any professional growth opportunities. 24/7 availability: Say goodbye to personal time and hello to being on-call 24/7, even during your holidays. Our CEO's famous words, "If you're not working Sunday, don't bother coming in on Monday," will be etched in your mind as a constant reminder of our commitment to workaholism. After all, who wouldn’t be delighted to receive a call from their CEO at 11pm on the weekend? Pay secrecy: Enjoy the thrill of not knowing how your salary compares to your colleagues, especially when it comes to the exciting world of the gender pay gap. We firmly believe that keeping pay information a secret adds an element of surprise and mystery to your career journey and that discussing it is a sackable offence. Who needs transparency and fairness when you can have a thrilling inequality adventure? Gossip for days: Indulge in the exciting world of unnecessary gossip! We'll keep you entertained by sharing highly confidential staffing issues that have absolutely nothing to do with you. Get ready to be involved in discussions you never asked for! Join Ryff, where we offer a truly unique work experience. If you're seeking a distinctive blend of toxic culture, discrimination, lack of support or recognition, never-ending work, pay secrecy, isolation, and intriguing gossip, then Ryff is the place for you!

Pros

Some of the people are nice.

Cons

While working at the company, you will be expected to email the entire staff each Monday with your 'top five' items for the week. I believe wholeheartedly, this is a complete waste of time, distrust and distress. Especially when your email is frequently 'replied all' to by the CEO and openly mocked. But in the spirit of Ryff, here are my top 5 cons about working here. 1). Being threatened to be fired for gross misconduct for talking about pay... or pay gaps. 2). Poor management and communication between different teams. 3). Constant disregard and disrespect for staff under C suite 4). No life work balance. (40 hours a week isn't enough! Why would you ever want time off? Why aren't you working on the weekend? Or available 24/7?) 5). No training for new responsibilities, despite promises. Expect to be set up to fail and blamed for mistakes over your pay grade.

Zero star, toxic, bizarre management

Pros

Before 2023 this would have been a four or five star review. The junior staff were all great, though most have now resigned.

Cons

This was one of the most bizarre companies I worked for. A textbook example of how quickly a company can go from being a rising star, ambitious and highly collaborative to being poor quality, have a toxic environment, with no trust, restrictions on internal communication and unqualified staff given top management positions. The company was/is clearly running out of money and went through several rounds of restructure to save money but management would spread rumours about the people leaving due to transgressions, rather than swallow their pride and admit it was streamlining. Staff were fired 1 day before milestones in their contracts, e.g. probation, and given no support in the off-boarding process. There was no humanity, due to a UK management who are of very poor quality and lacking experience, As other reviews have stated, the CEO is very sensitive, insecure and a sad example of a man. He promises the world, including employee bonuses/options and is incapable/unable/disinterested in following through. He is a toxic little man who humiliates employees publicly, has a dictatorial streak and is completely out of his depth. Somehow he keeps raising money from a dream, and keeps the company limping along, whereas the reality of the chaos is hidden from investors. UK middle management are incapable of decision making, again as promoted into positions they are ill equipped for. To anyone considering the company, I would ignore the sales patter. Enquire more on what stage the technology is really at, beyond the flashy videos. There is no training available to employees and team management's technical ability is disappointing. I would also encourage junior employees to avoid this company as it will be a scarring first employment. Please read the other reviews too as they paint a reasonable picture of other aspects of working for Ryff.
