The CEO lied to me when I specifically asked about her management style in the interview by claiming she did not micromanage and welcomed employee input. Refuses to use the term "BIPOC" because of some unclear reasoning behind not wanting to include Black and Indigenous in the acronym. Has made inappropriate comments in team meetings regarding diversity. Constantly brought in external advisors to work for free without regard to continuity of work. Always understaffed but extremely reluctant to hire outside her known circle, camp volunteers and coordinators always swamped and overwhelmed. Do not recommend this organization for any reason. I was so excited to work at an ocean-based nonprofit but frankly the impact stats were questionable. I literally left the industry after this job.
