This is a driver-oriented review for anyone considering working for Smartzi.
I have been a long-time driver with this company, but I have now reached a point where I am completely fed up.
I had a very disappointing experience with this company. I accepted a booking, drove nearly 80 miles in total (to and from the pick-up), and waited for about 3 hours—only for the job to be cancelled. The £17 compensation offered was still inadequate and nowhere near covering my fuel costs, time lost, or the long-distance fare I missed out on.
Unfortunately, this appears to be usual practice, not a one-off situation. Issues like this are happening repeatedly, and they are extremely difficult to resolve because there is no direct line to customer service for complaints. The lack of proper support for drivers makes the situation even worse.
What’s also frustrating is that they will call you at any time to confirm jobs, but when you need support, you are left chasing them, which is time-consuming and inefficient.
Drivers should not be left out of pocket due to late cancellations after arrival, especially after committing significant time and mileage.
Based on my experience and these ongoing issues, I would not recommend working for Smartzi.
