Growth Is Beyond Management Experience

Pros

Small company, easier to get things done because of this. Many employees that are hard working & good to work with. This company could have an awesome future, based on their quality products.

Cons

Owner/president makes knee jerk decisions without knowing the facts or thinking through the consequences. The company wants to grow, but cannot let go of its small company mentality & I don't see it ever evolving out of this as long as the current management team is in place. Way too much politics & tension for such a small. company. This company has been in existence for 20+years, but the most tenured employee is 6 years.....something wrong with that picture. Lots of turnover, 11+ people fired in one year's time. Also lots of politically incorrect comments made by owner/president & verbal attacks without researching the facts. The company seems to bleed money & for the wrong reasons & for departments that are managed by a family member. The owner/president's first reaction to a downward direction of the economy is to cut head count, rather than forecasting & preparing. If you can live on $30K or less for salary, with scant benefits, then this company is for you. Otherwise it's a stepping stone. Unfortunately I fear the current leadership will eventually be this company's ultimate demise.

Pros

Feels like a Mom & Pop shop. Up until they hired a corporate slug for an ops manager, they had a flexible, family-oriented business.

Cons

They have a reputation for lying to employees about flexible core hours and working from home. If they even hint about it during an interview, put it in your offer letter. Anything that sounds too good to be true: get them to put it in writing up-front. They have also fired several people without cause recently. If the company has a downtick in the bottom-line, there is no loyalty.

Pros

Interesting products and that's about it.

Cons

Worst culture I've ever experienced. One manager says one thing and the the owner overrides it.
