Pros

The below were true before the company took a terrible dark turn slightly over 1 year before I left: *An awesome company culture where I made relationships that would last a lifetime *Appreciated and valued employees for what they were and contributed to the company despite shortcomings on being able to advance *Embraced workplace friendships *Valued long time loyal employees as long as they were performing which they were *Barbecues, tailgates, company outings, lunch ins were very nice from throughout my time there. They became a lot less, but still existed a little even after the bad turn the company took overall *Healthcare and 401K benefits were pretty solid, but did become a bit worse overtime

Cons

These things listed below started and became apparent after the company took a tragic downturn that did not have to happen but they choose to be that way starting around the down turn: *Office drama and politics were an unmitigated disaster and nightmare based on horrible treatment of great friends of mine and each other for elementary schoollsh garbage that was non-work related that made coming to work like hell during the time and eventually contributed to one of the affected ones quitting months later *Double standards regarding supervisors and managers being able to talk or befriend certain employees over non-work related stuff which is elementary schoolish while making it sacred they cannot talk to someone else they were closer friends with and being mean over the dumbest stuff just to please someone others over non-work related matters and etc... *The open door policy and anytime feedback survey they often tout is a big fat lie as it did no good and in fact threatened firings of some great employees who were afraid to fill it out *Half truths and lies about many things including continuing to pretend to be a family oriented company and pretending to still embrace workplace friendships when they are not those anymore based on the stupid rules they now place on managers and supervisors over stuff not even work related. *Childish grudges and such and terrible drama were held and continued to be held at many times by certain employees and team leads/supervisors/managers *Obsession with embracing change just for the sake of change the even if it is not change for the better

Pros

Immediate manager was amazing. Always cared about their employees and fought for what they believe was right

Cons

BE AWARE. This companies response to the COVID-19 pandemic was to TERMINATE most of their best employees that were paid highly and/or had families on their insurance. All the while keeping the part time employees who barely knew how the help desk worked. Employees with a combined 30+ years working at this company were kicked to the curb, leaving the rest of the team with little to work with. Upper management is EXTREMELY tone deaf on what it's like to be a tech these days. Almost constant micromanagement and critique for everything you do.

Thank you for your feedback. Even though less-than-favorable reviews are something no company sets out to achieve, we do appreciate you taking the time. As you pointed out, your experience with SolvIT and your manager was positive until the COVID pandemic struck. The financial ramifications were swift throughout many companies. SolvIT and our clients were not spared. The normal business workflows that determine our staffing needs came to a halt with no immediate end in sight. As a result, in order to meet our client’s needs, hard budget decisions had to be made. As unfortunate as those decisions are, they are a reality brought about by the pandemic. We truly wish the circumstances could have been different. We thank you for your years of service and extend our best to you both personally and professionally.

Pros

Office environment meaning the typical shenanigans of not much work needs to be done. The existence of the job its self so you can get through HR filters for other jobs.

Cons

Pay is mediocre little to no room to advance. Every management level position is held by a small group of 5ish people that all help only each other and seem to be easily aggravated by having to do any work. Everyone is clearly friends especially again at the higher management level and they typically are not welcoming of new people. This is done very subtlety. Training was very poor and everything is learned as you go, although i don't want to say there's nothing to learn, everything is incredibly proprietary so you won't find much application of the technical skills outside of the job it also makes it very easy to prevent promotions as the only way to learn this system is only through this company, they have no competitors.
