Pros

The only pro is the fact that this review has been sent to the current investment groups.

Cons

Spectrio is a completely mismanaged group of people, with zero managerial experience, it's a sweatshop. Glassdoor reviews are closely filtered through the company in hopes of having a positive image for potential investors. Morale is extremely low, but not communicated. Managers with zero experience are simply looking at numbers. As the company continues to bring more people on board, they are less prepared. The products are dated ( although that does not stop anyone ) The sweatshop environment is encouraged by managers whom will only replace folks not willing to listen to absent non-existent upper-lower managers. As long as the revenue numbers are reported to potential new investors, all is good. Please ask if you interview about how they are handling the massive growth ( growth does not mean the company is doing well in this case) Also ask about how people are treated generally. Also ask about how much money you will actually be making ( lies). Since the economy is picking up I would encourage to look elsewhere. You will regret working here ( as many of us have already being here now)

Pros

Fully Remote. Great Co-Workers. Free T-Shirts.

Cons

Remember the joke from American Psycho about “murders and executions” being misheard as “mergers and acquisitions”? That’s Spectrio in a nutshell. Their business model is to acquire as many companies in any semi-applicable industry as possible with no execution plan for fully integrating the acquired platforms or staff. Spectrio is collection of dozens of unique platforms/companies that are basically held together by popsicle sticks and chewed gum. No one at the top tiers of the company has basic knowledge of what these products do, let alone how they function. That lack of knowledge extends to the sales team, which is ironically the only department where one can see success. Account Managers are solely revenue driven. Once they’ve closed a deal with a customer, they’re encouraged to duck and run. This not only leads to low-quality customer experiences, it more often than not results in greater burdens for customer service and support staff who have to bear the consequences of account management misinformation. While they over-staff the sales teams, they are simultaneously bleeding employees who support the platforms (tech, support, customer service). Despite pleas from these teams’ managers, they will not hire staff to replace them. Responsibilities of departed employees are placed on the plates of existing staff who are already working beyond full capacity. With no primary platform determined and technical staff from each of them leaving in droves, it seems like they are in a race to see which platform dies last and declare it their premiere product. To bring it all together, the C-Level team is comprised of people with no experience in the industry who have been on-board for less than a year. This type of business model is designed to demonstrate fast-increasing revenue via acquisitions, high sales numbers, and low administrative costs (refer to the above) so that it can be quickly sold to the next bidder before its ultimate implosion. Their intention is not to invest in their employees, it’s to make a quick buck off of their underpaid and overworked backs. Benefits packages are laughable. Any employees who make a livable salary choose to purchase health insurance outside of the company. Same with the 401K plan. There is a rewards platform where your coworkers can publicly award you pennies with GIFs attached to them to distract you from the realization that your hard work should result in a pay raise, not a $25 gift card to Olive Garden. In summary, human capital is the most dispensable asset at Spectrio. There are countless talented and valuable employees working there, but there is no opportunity for them to grow or develop in this shell of a company.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review about your experience at Spectrio. We welcome the opportunity to address some of your comments. Throughout the company’s history, we have acquired businesses that offer similar services, as well as several that have expanded our capabilities. Each of our acquisitions is thoughtfully researched beforehand, and intentionally integrated into the business, to meet the changing needs of the company and our clients. In fact, over the last few years, we have built an entire department dedicated to product development and technology integration. In addition to growing the Spectrio team across all departments in 2021, we have been working diligently to continue to build a robust and comprehensive training program for all new hires. This standardized and streamlined onboarding process ensures that regardless of their team or department, all new hires will have knowledge and understanding of our products, services, mission, and values. Spectrio’s current benefits package includes comprehensive medical, dental, vision, voluntary life, flexible spending accounts and health savings accounts, along with a partially-matched 401k, education reimbursement, short and long term disability (fully paid by Spectrio) and an Employee Assistance Program (fully paid by Spectrio). In addition, at this time Spectrio employees get 11 paid holidays, 3+ weeks of vacation (depending on tenure), paid sick days, and more. Our HR team has researched extensively to ensure our benefits are comparable with similar-sized companies, and we are always looking for ways to improve.

Pros

You make connections with some cool co-workers and could remain friends. They went full-remote.

Cons

They don't have good benefits (like your PTO and sick days go in the 'negatives' when used up), and they do not roll over to the next year if aren't used, so you get like 5 days off a year if lucky. C-level team does a very horrible job managing and could care less about you or your growth within the company. All they care about is making money and demanding you to work faster whilst paying you less money. They consider themselves 'agile' and use 'scrum' but make up their own rules such as: 1 story point=1 hour of work, which makes estimating impossible and sets you up for failure right away. Tickets that roll over to next sprints are considered a no-no and you will get called out for that. They expect you to be a cross-platform developer. They acquire so many companies/apps that you may find yourself working on 4 or 5 different tech stacks, which makes it hard to get good at anything. Poor work/life balance. With lack of support, you will be working late nights to avoid the embarrassment of not figuring something out. Imposter syndrome..yeah they'll give you even more of that feeling. High turnover rate for engineers. I would say more than half of them left within a year or less. Never a good sign.
