Pros

Overall company culture promotes healthy conflict and conversation. The leadership team understands what makes Spreetail unique and success in their market, and pursues those strengths.

Cons

Middle management skills seem to be a bit lacking. A lot of strong individual contributors are now in management positions without management skills, despite company training. The messaging on company culture sometimes drifts toward unsustainable burnout. You have to be willing to draw your line for work/life balance.

Pros

Smart people below C-suite Starting to promote benefits of a normal corporate company, like 401(k) match

Cons

Overly involved management, they don’t trust their employees to do the work so they ask to oversee everything Several C-Suite members have not been in e-commerce and do not know how to manage a team Focused on metrics that do not matter and missing important feedback from team members Frequent layoffs, they just hide it by doing it only within certain departments Too many senior directors and not enough people to do the actual work Promise of an IPO for over 5 years with no follow through or roadmap to get there

Pros

This company has good benefits, fully remote, and gives a good impression early on that they have themselves together.

Cons

The cons is that the pros are all deceptions. Poor management, lack of vision, blind denial of reality in the face of absurd goals set by C-suite, and an extremely cliquey culture. You are either part of the in group and will do well, or you aren't and everything you do will be rejected.

Pros

Worklife balance Decent pay Unlimited PTO

Cons

The company is overly focused on operations and numbers, neglecting employee well-being and support. • Management at the Fulfillment Centers works incredibly hard, yet receives little recognition or support from corporate leadership. • There’s noticeable favoritism within corporate, which creates a sense of unfairness and frustration. • The interview process is inconsistent and lacks clear guidelines. • Corporate culture feels unprofessional, with the leadership resembling a “boys club” environment. It often feels like working in a frat party atmosphere. • There’s a lack of transparency regarding the company’s financial status. Despite claims of being profitable, the reality seems otherwise.
