Pros

Great work life balance ( extra hours or staying late is discouraged) Very open internal business, really feel heard and listened when feedback is heard. above inflation pay rise Work from home, with hybrid options (can use any of the offices)

Cons

Work load doesn't seem fair across all teams Company Bonus targets are very challenging to achieve. Hard to use/fit in self development time Small & restrictive WFH budget (£100 a year, can only be used on laptop/PC peripherals not desk etc)

Pros

Good methodologies that make sense and work. Casual office environment. Ability to work from home. Good perks like extra days off at Christmas, paid sabbatical after 6 years, health insurance etc. Free snacks. London office well located, bright and airy. Work life balance is pretty good. Some excellent support teams - Ops, Legal, Finance

Cons

Threw out a brand that clients and staff loved and changed it to something that is dull and very 'system 2'. With the name change came a series of terrible decisions, from restructuring around 3 practices to getting rid of some amazing people. The consequences have been catastrophic. Over 50% of the UK account team have left in the last year. Senior management totally lost sight that the people make the business. Restructuring into 3 practices was meant to bring business efficiencies but it has done nothing of the sort and instead created a disjointed client experience and limited variety and skills built by staff, most of whom have since left or are planning to. Some of the people put in leadership positions have no leadership skills and have created disorganised, messy and uninspiring teams. Until this is sorted out, people will keep leaving. Overall it just feels like it has lost its way. The situation has gotten so desperate that a panic has set in so people can now be promoted (deserved or not) or get huge pay rises just by threatening to leave. HR function impotent - purely administrative, despite all the problems they have done nothing to help, staff don't know what they do or why they exist

Pros

Company is truly one of the most innovative in research. It makes you proud and happy to work with tools that you can really believe in. The atmosphere is good, staff satisfaction is very high despite a few of the negative reviews here (they do staff satisfaction surveys and are VERY open with the results, warts and all). When there are issues, they confront them head on and senior managers really do their best to improve things. Staff turnover has typically been very low with many people working their way from bottom to top. Benefits are pretty good and they are quite casual (e.g. you can use your work phone for pretty much unlimited personal purposes). Recently they have been encouraging staff to take time back when they have had a particularly busy project - nice that it's give and take. You can learn a lot here with interesting work and talented staff. No time sheets is a major plus!

Cons

Growing pains have been felt over the years as it transitioned from a small start-up to a mid-sized agency. Communication between senior management and staff could be better. Sometimes they change course without explaining why. They try different things, when they don't work out it can be frustrating but I guess that's the price to pay for being an innovative company. They should have more transparency of salary bands. For some reason they don't like to share them with staff. HR are more an admin function and it's left to the account teams to do all the training, recruitment, improving work/life balance etc. You need to work hard at BrainJuicer so it's not a place if you just want to take it easy with minimal effort. On the positive side, you can get promoted pretty quickly if you're prepared to put in the effort.

Great place to work

Pros

- super flexible both on working patterns and location, and good work life balance - great company values and great place to work, everyone is friendly and welcoming - interesting work - nice company size (big enough that it's not the chaos of a start up but small enough that you can get to know everyone) - plenty of development opportunities including international secondments

Cons

- maybe not some of the smaller benefits that would be available at a larger company (e.g. cycle to work) - but salaries and all the main benefits are good
