they're small so you get to work on almost all aspects of the business (bidding on contracts, write quotes, and of course the engineering work)
Cons
do not pay on time, bad (cheap) clients that try to fight having to pay a few 100 euros for work completed, lack connections to get good contracts, no advancement opportunities
