Good place to start, wouldn't stay for long though unless things change
Pros
- A culture aimed towards enjoying yourself while in the office - Youthful workplace - The colleagues I worked with were awesome - If you want to take ownership of something, you can (as long as someone else doesn't want to own it as well) - Their were bright and motivated early-career engineers - They'll feed you and get you drunk - Plenty of social events around the work week
Cons
- Unfair hiring process, a fair bit of nepotism - Hostile work culture, instances of bullying in the guise of jokes/memes/presentations - Even by industry standard, poor standards of diversity and inclusion - Some roles/concepts are new to the business and can be an "uphill battle" to get them considered equitably - Low ownership of work after delivery, management encourages "*just* ship it" - Compensation is low - Heavy drinking culture - Arrogant attitude towards position in market - Poor work life balance if you're in a high ownership/responsibility (but low comp) role - Not clear how to progress inside the company
