Pros

I liked most of my coworkers, generally a good group of colleagues.

Cons

Crazy long hours for completely bottom of the pay scale salary Management was completely unreceptive to feedback or recommendations. Constantly expecting all of us to cover for their shortcomings or lies to clients. Wouldn't hire more people when we needed them and didn't keep their promises about raises or bonuses. Just a complete mess of a company, very unethical and without any strong leadership.

Total has been in business for 29+ years. At Total, we have “team players” that have been employed for less than one year and others that have been employed for 15+ years. It is Total’s mindset that a “team player” is someone who works well with others and is devoted to providing superior customer service, at all times. Part of this is fostered by the culture of comradery that is established while working on our tight-knit team. Technical ability and willingness to learn are required attributes at Total. The IT service industry is always changing and requires motivated individuals who enjoy learning new technologies in order to provide superior service to clients. Generally, like most companies, when Total hires someone new, he/she gets shift placement based on seniority. The shift that one is hired for is the shift that he/she is expected to work until another shift becomes available. Working one’s shift is imperative in this industry as Total is in the service business and our clients pay us for the coverage across all shifts. Overtime is paid by Total for every entitled employee each and every time it occurs as it is New York State law. At Total, no one has ever been written up for putting in overtime, nor has anyone ever been written up for requesting a different shift; not in 29+ years of business. Personally, as President & CEO of Total, I take tremendous pride in taking care of my team but I do expect an honest day’s work for an honest day’s pay. The above response was posted on behalf of the President & CEO of Total.

Cons

Management is horrible. I got laid off because my hours were 9-6 and i would leave at 6pm. apparently i wasn't a "Team Player". Sorry, some of us have a happy life outside of the work environment. Seems like everyone who works at this company is a puppet, and they love to Micro Manage their employees as well. Worst Company I have ever worked for. I hated going to work everyday, that is how miserable it was to work there. After my 6 month review, I had to start looking for a new job. I got written up for putting in for 2 hours overtime, Asking to change my work hours from 9-6 to 8-5 because of my newborn child (Wanted to spend extra time with my son because of his sleep schedule) All of these "issues" are Management problems, not employee problems. Apparently it is forbidden to request any of this information. DO NOT HIRE OR WORK FOR THIS COMPANY, YOU WILL REGRET IT!

Great Company For Good Employees

Pros

I have been employed by Total for 7+ years and have had nothing but a great experience. I have read some of the previous reviews and can say with certainty that I have worked with each of the former employees that have bashed our company. To have a good experience here at Total or at any company for that matter you need to have a good work ethic, communicate with your co-workers and clients, and be driven to better yourself everyday. Although i have the utmost respect for everyone I have worked with, a few of my former co-workers were lacking these traits. I can honestly say that most of us here at Total are a family and are more than willing to help make each other better while also making sure our clients receive the best possible service at all times. Eternally grateful for the opportunity to work here.
