      Voi has no interest investing in their employees

      Pros

      The people I've worked with - hardworking, devoted and fun people who now became friends. The international environment.

      Cons

      - The management is a joke. There is no planning, just reacting - which leads to last minute rash decisions that create more problems. It is a wonder how some managers got their positions considering their poor communication and overall social skills. - Voi could not care less about their employees. This is something I felt from day one, and the feeling was confirmed time and time again. Very few benefits, no healthcare, no allowance for the gym, etc. The office building is in a really bad state, very dirty and it does not feel safe at all. -Management is only looking at numbers and never seems to look at the depth of a situation when taking decisions. There is a clear lack in humanity in the way things are generally handled, with many competent and hard working people being let go in disrespectful ways. The company has no ethics, no integrity. For a business that supposedly cares about the planet, I think it is interesting to see how they treat human beings (who happen to have helped them become who they are today). - Voi makes their employees feel disposable, while asking them to invest their time and energy in the company as if they were the owners. Companies like Voi are only contributing to building a broken system where employee's rights and security are taking steps back - so if you care about your own rights and your own security, maybe this is not the right place for you.

We do not wish for any employee to feel as though they don’t matter or that we don’t care. Layoffs are never easy, but they should be handled with care. Working in a fast-paced environment in a dynamic industry can cause rash decisions, and we acknowledge that many lessons have been learned in the past.       Terrible managers an leadership. No one really cares for anything other than their careers. You get treated like an expendable piece of machine.

      Proven itself to be everything they claimed they didn't want to be

      Voi is a company still run by very immature and young business leaders, therefore there is no long term vision and understanding of how to properly execute business decisions for the future. Voi's only goal is to be profitable as soon as possible and therefore will make rash decisions that only get them as far as the next quarter. This includes mass lay offs, continual structural changes and unethical and unsustainable treatment of the employees, business partners, and customers alike. When working at Voi you will never walk into the office feeling secure in your job as it has been seen lately that people find out about the meeting telling them they are being let go approximately 1 hr before it takes place. The words transparency ring through the office halls on a daily basis but it is clear this is nothing more than a buzzword meant to sound enticing but has no actual place in the company. The managers and executives are everything but transparent and treat the employees as a disposable product who they can squeeze thousands of working hours out of and then let them go without any explanation, no compensation and no empathy. The human aspect of Voi has completely disappeared and greed is at the forefront of the operations sacrificing sustainability, ethical treatment and human emotion.

The decisions to move a department offshore was not a lighthearted one, and we realise that many were affected. Voi has gone through many changes, and we acknowledge that many lessons have been learned. Voi is still a young company, navigating in a dynamic industry - but nonetheless - no employee should feel as a disposable product. In order to improve, we’ve implemented an anonymous feedback system where employees can share their thoughts on a weekly basis. We want every employee to feel that they can have an impact, and that actions are being taken based on that feedback. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
