Pros
Firstly, for a fresher it offers good opportunity to have hand on experience on Linux, C++, Shell Scripting, Database handling. Similarly, my job involved developing system utility. So that was good experience. Talking about growth, one can get yearly increment beyond expectations.
Cons
Works starts here after 5 when 9.30 to 5.30 is the office timing.
